Who else sympathises with Heather Mills?

Just saw an item about her and Macca's divorce hearing today. OF COURSE if you ask a lawyer, he/she will say Heather should have legal representation. They are not going to admit to being useless are they? Another comment about her was that she was limping. Well she does only have one leg!
And why is it on the news at all when the hearing is going to take all week, so there really is no news till the judgment is made.

I like the MacCartney ditties as much as any one but it's no reason to be so biassed against poor Heather after the sad break up of this marriage.

Limara · 13/02/2008 00:03

WendyWeber, I can't comment on what HM was like before she met PM, nor do I care much but I don't believe everything I read in the news. PM is very private and he would not want her publicising private matters so IMO the best thing to do is to make her look stupid, foolish and dishonest.

Didn't PM lead a proper Rock & Roll lifestyle back in the day? Hardly honest decent & innocent.

I'm not throwing stones......

mrsruffallo · 13/02/2008 00:04

McFly actually do write their own songs, the same guy wrote the Busted songs when he was in that band

mrsruffallo · 13/02/2008 00:04

Custy- it is against the law to hate Bob

Tinker · 13/02/2008 00:09

Yeah, but just beacuse people write their own songs doesn't alwaysy mean that they are any good. Debbie fucking Gibson "wrote her own songs" gasp but they were ALL shite.

The Beatles, however, were not shite.

WendyWeber · 13/02/2008 00:12

This is a good place to start looking at her past, Limara - when she tried to pretend she was the other Heather Mills?

Limara · 13/02/2008 00:18

HM sounds brilliant! not the first in business to be dishonest and by no means the last. Didn't we go to war on a lie?......

Tortington · 13/02/2008 00:20

My nephew liked Busted. He cried when they split. But he is only 9

Tortington · 13/02/2008 00:47
Grin
DaDaDa · 13/02/2008 01:04

Aw, come on, The Beatles are fucking ace and anyone who says otherwise is a tryhard fool. IMHO.

But I do feel a bit sorry for Heather. She's up against a saint (even though he's clearly an utter arse) and can never win, no matter how much of an arse he's been. She does herself no favours though.

varicoseveined · 13/02/2008 08:26

I don't get all the vitriol against her in the press; nor do I understand all the positive press about "Macca".

Then again, why is this such a big news story is beyond me too... then again I always thought that the Beatles are overrated...

ruty · 13/02/2008 08:36

never been a huge fan of the Beatles [Revolver is quite good though] but my estimation of Paul McCartney has gone way done since this whole thing happened [even though before hand my estimation of him was limited to being irritated by his appalling solo crap]
I think both of them are probably equally unlikeable in different ways. However the press is notoriously misogynist so HM has definitely got the thin edge of the wedge, combined with the fact that she really puts her self out there, so all her flaws are easily seen, while Macca hides behind his PR.

Custardo, you don't like Bob Marley?

Piffle · 13/02/2008 08:51

I'm not sure if she is great good or what. But PM was a twonk. No pre nup. Have child together. Whatever she gets she gets because he was too foolish to protect his considerable assets. Poor bastards. He'll only have £700 million left. My heart weeps while the violin plays. I don't care if she is what the worst things say she is. End result is that she is the mother and main carer of their child and deserves some degree of protection from him, estranged or not.

YeahBut · 13/02/2008 08:52

I am slightly that anyone could be as awful as HM is reported to be and as saintly as Macca is portrayed.
Macca chose to marry her without a pr-nup. He can't start bleating about it now it's come back to bite him in the bum. He is a phenomenally wealthy man, therefore HM's settlement will be relatively phenomenal. And that's the price he'll have to pay for getting married without a pr-nup. What did or didn't happen in the marriage is irrelevant.
I don't think that either partly is particularly likeable. I am very shocked at the vitriol heaped upon HM, though. She's not a murderess.

varicoseveined · 13/02/2008 08:55

I completely agree, YeahBut!

bundle · 13/02/2008 10:43

interesting that now she's abandoned her legal team, HM chooses to turn up at court with:
a burly bodyguard
a driver
her sister
her personal trainer
her make-up artist

spokette · 13/02/2008 11:17

PM is a musical genius. Abbey Road was a masterpiece and side two in particular is a testament to the innovation that belies his genius. His suite of songs that formed the seamless medley on side two was a first and set the template that has been copied many times.

PM's and The Beatles' music have stood the test of time and will be listened to for generations to come. Ditto Bob Marley.

HMM legacy is what exactly? She appears to crave to be revered as a saint for her charity work but you know what? A lot of people do charity work quietly, without fanfare, without acknowledgement and with humility. She ain't one of them.

mrsruffallo · 13/02/2008 14:44

Frog chorus? Knockin' on the door? Ebony and Ivory? This is not musical genius
