Hoping the article in the DM is correct as he deserves to be cancelled!!!

You don’t “press charges” in England but if you don’t make a complaint , provide a statement or co-operate with the investigation in other ways ( medical examination or photos) then the police wouldn’t be able to proceed with the investigation regardless. Assaulting someone is not the same as holding an unpopular opinion or making a comment deemed offensive and the victim in that matter may have been happy with the outcome regardless of what you think should have happened.

I subscribe to the times and if you write anything even mildly critical ( not trolling) underneath his article it gets deleted ... lots of men commenting " great job jezza"

Looking at some of the comments on social media is terrifying. So many men saying 'hes only saying what we're all thinking ". Imagine thinking that your own twisted misogynistic fantasies about violence towards women are so normal that everyone has the same thoughts. It's twisted.

The comments on the daily mail article are vile! Most posts are bashing meghan, just shows the world we live in, when men are allowed to talk about women in this way & they think its ok!! One comment.. I want to see her beheaded at the tower! I mean WTF is wrong with people!! The hatred is vile!!

He’s a twat. He doesn’t have ‘outlandish’ views, he has completely standard views of an old white man who has lead a life of privilege and success and still somehow isn’t happy.

Hate the word and the premise of being 'cancelled". Particularly when press dig up something a celeb wrote on sm a million years ago at a point in time and use it to make sure person looses their job or never works again. I am so glad that social media wasn't around when I was a sulky teenager and that every I'll thought out rash comment wasn't held against me for ever.

Having said that I think JC absolutely deserves to loose his job . What he said was utterly vile.

I'm glad he's going. The MM comment was horrendous and completely uncalled for. Funnily enough my misogynistic male colleagues don't understand why he's not having his contracts renewed.

We continuously talk about the attitudes of men, while we have people like him who spew such nasty things about women and allowed to carry on as nothing has happened! ( This toxic mentality is why I believe men know they can get away with it, and leads to much worse things. Also serious, and dangerous attitude of the MET police - in regards to rape culture, sexist views and more) We need to set an example, that men can not talk about women like this ever.. Even if they do not like someone. These men always use such brute force towards women but never to men.... Piers Morgan is another one, on twitter constantly barating women and even invited Andrew Tate on his show....

There are more than a few parallels aside from one key factor that seemingly is acceptable to many here?

There seems to be a solid group of males (assuming the names on the times online and twitter etc are slightly real) that are very angry. They hate meghan for breathing ,they hate female sports commentators, they are upset about female MPs existing or in fact any snr female manager.

Many of these men love "Jezza", some of them probably think Andrew Tate has a point. Some of them think Piers Morgan is just saying it how it is.

Just to be clear I'm really concerned about any of the above. I'm having some very skirting chats with DS about it all but I'm late 40s and really didn't think we'd be here in 2023 ffs.

@DoubleShotEspresso I’m also a Times subscriber and there are tons of negative comments about Jeremy Clarkson.
In fact it’s a real mixed bag. Plenty of haters, fans and moderates in the comments section.

to the person who mentioned does Game of Thrones deserve to be cancelled because the scene was in there - that was done to a fictional character, bit different to “fantasising” about doing it to a real person. I used to love JC but those comments were absolutely unacceptable.

We certainly don't have free speech anymore . Too many being cancelled because someone somewhere didn't like what was said . I blame all these companies pandering to this cancel policy because they think it's what people want . What he said was horrible but I'd defend his right to say it .

Amazon will be showing the next season of Clarkson Farm starting in February, they will also be showing the next season of the grand tour. I expect they will then see what the ratings are, also see how the Great British public are feeling about Harry and Meghan in 2024. Then they will decide weather to give Clarkson a new contract.

I will be watching Clarkson farm as the first series was very good.

I don't think anyone should be cancelled - we live in a democratic country and people are entitled to their views. If people are cancelled it builds up frustration and resentment - it works both ways. At the current time any we have a situation where it seems that anyone who doesn't hold woke views is cancelled - I thought JC's column in The Sun was in poor taste. He has apologised - that is really the end of the matter in my view.

I do agree to an extent @twelly but he was just so vile about Meghan, and I'm not really a fan of theirs, but he made me feel sorry for her! But I agree, he shouldn't be cancelled.
