A heartbreaking read. That man is just pure evil. He should never see the light of day again.

Even the grandmother said he’d bragged to her about beating a sick dog to death with a brick. Knew about his criminal convictions which included violence.

As I previously posted, I work in this area. A referral would have been taken seriously. I see referrals for stuff like this everyday, much less serious backgrounds of mother’s new partners too. Its sickening that no one was concerned about the children’s safety before this happened. Not at all blaming SS who were not aware but they should have been!

I don't think anyone is victim blaming. Just astonishment that the mother exposed her children to this monster. There's a big difference between being an "arse and a waster" and being a monster like him. He was covered in Nazi tatoos, on the run from the police, bragged about murdering a dog openly had a drug habit and was known locally to be violent. That's a violent criminal to me, not an arse and a waster. What the hell was she thinking taking up with him?

@AmazonianAvatar I totally agree, even if mother was brainwashed by him or groomed or whatever, where were the other concerned adults in these children's lives? I'm talking about the mother's two children, obviously not the poor little girl on the sleepover whose parents may not have had a clue about mother's boyfriend. The grandmother says she was very close to the mother and the children, so why didn't she step in and either tell the mother to get rid of him or phoned social services, even anonymously?

If you want someone like that in your life and have children, let someone else look after your children eg their dad, grandparents

I would have to agree but sometimes people are blinded by love unfortunately, I bet those questions be being asked by the kids surviving parents each and every day. This case has got to be the most heinous I have read in my 35 years on planet earth too, since I saw it in the news 2 days ago it keeps going through my mind and what makes the case even more disturbing is the fact this monster has seemingly just done this grotesque act for the hell of it, motiveless and doesn’t show a single speck of remorse in his arrest video. I remember being away working abroad last year and seeing it in the news and being shocked and forgot about it but like you seeing all the horrific details in the news this week and the thoughts of what went on in that house and the fear of the victims has just sickened me to the core, I hope the house is demolished, it needs to be, nobody should ever have to look at that house of horrors ever again. I do agree on what you say about the kids being occupied too and not knowing what was happening to other victims it’s as if each victim has been killed silently otherwise surely the neighbours would of heard it all going on or one of them escaping the house. May they all rest in peace and I hope this monster has a lifetime of suffering.

I also felt so sorry for the police officers arresting him after they had just gone into the house and discovered what this monster had done. You can hear in the officer's voice the sheer effort it is taking to maintain his professionalism.

I'm sure they will be forever haunted by what they saw that day.

I think everyone here is shocked and very sad about this crime and has sympathy for anyone who knows the victims. Apologies if you know then and it’s upset you @SmithaAngie.
