Poor defenceless kids 😓. Hangings too good for this utter scrote!! I wish he could be take out with a claw hammer. I really hope other prisoners to make his life a living hell, I really do. I wonder whether his motivation was child abuse all along too 😡 If only Social Care could have stepped in and supported the mother to leave him.

I think she was pregnant by him.
He’s a piece of shit. I hope that he suffers in prison.

Tiny derail to mention that the death penalty (certainly in the US) is actually considerably more expensive than life imprisonment. Plenty of sources if you Google but here's one: inmatesplus.com/the-cost-of-death-penalty-vs-life-in-prison/

I haven't got the stomach to read the link fully but I hope he feels some of the terror in prison which he put this woman and children through. I too remember seeing the headline and my heart breaking. It happens far far too often.

My friend lives across the road, her daughter is nearly the same age & played with the daughter, they were all devastated when it happened. I've seen the video tonight on the news of when they arrested him, he admitted it & then pleaded not guilty at earlier hearings, he raped the daughter as she was dying & murdered his unborn child, the death penalty is too good for him.

Apparently she moved away from him a couple of years before and didn't want him to know where she lived, but they obviously ended up getting back together and she got pregnant and said she wanted to get married. If only she'd never taken him back. Truly heartbreaking for the families. Hopefully he won't last long in prison.

Yes because he admitted guilt in this case and might not have if his life was at stake. That would have out the families through another terrible ordeal of a trial.

Then the appeals take years so there's no point of knowing proceedings are done for decades sometimes.

Not commenting re this case but if was true of all mothers. We see in the news how many women put men before kids and the consequences too often.

Women who are mothers should be wary, yes. But equally women date all the time successfully. This creature was clearly deranged and definitely had anti-social traits beforehand.

Anyway, echo others about not deserving to live. Maybe wouldn't work in reality but support 100% in principle.

Women in these sorts of cases often do put men in front of their children. They would rather be with someone/anyone than be on their own and ignore the red flags waving madly.

What can we do as a society to teach these women that they are better than these scum?

I feel so sorry for Connie's family. Their poor girl was completely in the wrong place at the wrong time. If he was going to confess anyway, he could have let her live.

Any women who do put men before their children should at least not let their DC have other children to stay over for sleepovers, if those men are violent.

As you say @Chippy1234 we need to get these women to recognise this is not their life and they need help to get these men out of their life. And so much needs to be done to stop men thinking they can treat women badly. Obviously this is an extreme case, so makes the news, but so much other violence goes unreported both legally and by the media.

Absolutely agree, but sometimes cases like this are used as a stick to beat all women with, when many people find nice normal partners.

Also, we don't know the exact circumstances here. This man is completely fucked in the head. This is not the sort of man you can end a relationship with, period, unfortunately. Even if she saw the light and tried to leave, it wouldn't be that easy

I can't believe he we would murder them all just for sexual motivation. Makes me wonder if there was any sexual abuse before that or was he off his head on drugs. What was he thinking? I just read he also stole all the kids games consoles afterwards and went to sell them for drugs. I just hope he gets the tortured in prison every day.

Local to me. It was horrific when it first happened and then reading that article tonight and finding out about the rape...no words really.

This is what the death penalty was invented for.

Although people like him don't tend to last long in prison

This is the second case recently that has made me question my lifelong opposition to the death penalty (the first being Sarah Everard). It’s unbearable to think what those children must have suffered. You can absolutely understand the impulse towards mob justice - the rage I feel towards him is visceral. Still, life imprisonment with no chance of release is probably a worse punishment than a quick death.

There was poor 18 year old Bobbi Anne McCleod from Plymouth, attacked also with a hammer at a bus stop 6pm at night from behind at the end of her street in a built up area. He then abducted her when he realised she was still breathing and continued to torture her into the night. Not alot of press coverage regarding her sick murder which only happened last year, but her attack was also evil and for what? There was no sexual motive, nothing he just wanted to kill someone. He was cold and calculating. Why is this happening to women/children?

I’m in no way blaming the mother for what he did but I do wonder why she allowed a man whom she knew to be a violent drug addict with a criminal record to be around her children or why she would ever consider having a baby with him. Also, what did Connie’s parents know of their family situation? I can’t imagine they would let their daughter play at her friend’s house if they knew who was living with there. It makes me a bit scared to let my kids go on playdates at friends’ houses.

Absolutely horrific. Just cannot comprehend someone doing something so evil.

What can be done to prevent predators like this targeting vulnerable women & children? Violent/sexual offenders should be monitored to ensure they aren’t around children but there aren’t enough resources for that.
