i really hope that the parents are to blame because the thought of people being born bad is just to scary.

tammylove · 01/12/2004 16:45

So its acceptable behaviour then because they were 10?
Children killing children is ok? They did the unspeakable and now they are been made to look innocent victims of society?

hercyulelog · 01/12/2004 16:45

i dont understand your last post tammy.

JanH · 01/12/2004 16:46

There was no apparent abuse? Just 2 normal happy families with a couple of evil kids in them? Sheesh.

spacedonkey · 01/12/2004 16:47

Do you see anyone here claiming it is ok for children to kill Tammy?

hercyulelog · 01/12/2004 16:47

Not one person has even implied what they did was acceptable or that they acted as "normal" ten year olds. The point is they werent.

Good post, BFM.

And once again - AGAIN - nobody is condoning those actions. '

Tammy do you read the thread before responding or do you just skim and respond emotionally?

tammylove · 01/12/2004 16:48

I dont regret saying James is the victim and that T & V make me sick, now as adults with there protection and GCSE's which James didnt get to sit i add.

Yes im a mother and fee;l compassion where its required, and frankly as to yet i still have no sympathy for them. Sorry if this offends.

hercyulelog · 01/12/2004 16:48

lol at your post spacedonkey! I know you didnt mean it!

motherinfestivemood · 01/12/2004 16:48

But Uwila, surely one of the main reasons we are as a society so fixated on this particular murder is because of the age of the children who committed it?

Children are harmed and brutalised and killed more than once every decade in this country, sadly. But we have a far closer memory of something that happened that long ago than some of the things that have happened to children at the hands of adults since then.

spacedonkey · 01/12/2004 16:49

lol! There should have been a comma before the "Tammy" I think

mikeyjon · 01/12/2004 16:49

awen - just for the record, i wasn't calling you strange or sad, i was just defending you against people who have done. look back on the thread

hercyulelog · 01/12/2004 16:49

What if everyone had the same views Tammy?

Uwila · 01/12/2004 16:50

Nobody can control their emotions. But we can all be responsible for controllin how we act upon them.

I think that ten year olds who don't know or don't care that murder is horrific and certainly not normal and should not be walking the streets alone.

I have said many times on this thread, and I will say again:

T & Vs' parents are at least partly responsible for the monsters they created. Why have they not been held accountable?

tammylove · 01/12/2004 16:50

We are looking at this from seperate sides here, you are talking the 10 yr olds who killed. I am talking the 20 yr olds with new lives, its not right, let them alone and they can live with their mistake.

JanH · 01/12/2004 16:50

I was surprised that this story never got picked up on MN - another angelic adorable little boy - murdered with salt by his foster parents because he threw his dinner on the floor, basically.

How should they be dealt with, tammy?

SantaandtheReindeer · 01/12/2004 16:51

LOL Spacedonkey!

hercyulelog · 01/12/2004 16:51

I am quite capable of controlling my emotions thankyou.

Awenamanger · 01/12/2004 16:51

Uwila.. if that was the case why arent we setting up threads for those parents who have dashed their babies against the wall breaking all the bones in their body? Why are we hunting down people like the man who slammed the door on his babies head? The fact is were are horrified by all these crimes but it is more 'accepted' that adults do this and we can just say thet are evil. Howedver children learn from society, adults and those around them so.. a child being a murderer must mean that society etc is evil in a sense?

Oh bugger i really better run now!

spacedonkey · 01/12/2004 16:52

So, Uwila, would it have been better if Thompson and Venables parents had been torn limb from limb too? How would that actually help anyone? How would that help Denise Bulger? How would that help us as a society understand how something so horrific could happen?

tammylove · 01/12/2004 16:52

Space and the comma before Tammy is for?

Jan the same, life in prison no parole.

Awenamanger · 01/12/2004 16:53

Sorry mikey I was wrong. A case of emotional response

motherinfestivemood · 01/12/2004 16:53

Could you live with that knowledge? Could you?

As I've said earlier, I would be living in hell. And don't tell me 'no, I'm not a killer so I can't imagine it' - just think what it's like, for a moment.
