Story here - would you mind? Do you mind church bells ringing? What are your reasons?

Don't know what I think - would be interested to hear your thoughts!

We live in a quiet area. It would be very disturbing here. As would church bells.
No one wants to lose the peace and quiet they are used to.

I adore the sound, as I do church bells.

IAmMeThisIsI · 05/07/2020 11:27

The church bells near me go off on Sunday morning when you're trying to have a lie in and it's horrible. If I had that five times a day everyday it would REALLY annoy me. I wouldn't mind having Muslims in my area at all though. As long as they're quiet and respectful (as everyone should be). Noise pollution is something that really gets on my nerves though, no matter who is making said noise or why.

Islam is not UK culture so no were not muslims so no sorry not 5 times a day call to prayer do not roast me

catontherun · 17/09/2020 17:00

Yes.

Terralee · 17/09/2020 23:09

I wouldn't mind it.

AlwaysCheddar · 19/09/2020 21:23

I’d object

Porcupineinwaiting · 23/09/2020 09:08

I'd object, unless I'd knowingly bought a house next to a mosque. If someone tried to put up a bell tower in my neighbourhood I'd object to that too.

seabreeze77 · 28/09/2020 10:14

Yes most certainly, so intrusive, and churchbells aren’t intrusive, usually only on a Sunday. It’s part of our culture, the call to prayer isn’t. Islam seems intent on forcing itself on us.

seabreeze77 · 28/09/2020 10:17

Islam, in about 10 years, will become the dominant religion in the UK. So yes let's hear the Muslim call of prayer. It's beautiful.

No it really isn’t, and I really hope it doesn’t become the dominant religion. It that the plan?

seabreeze77 · 28/09/2020 10:27

When you go on holiday, the other countries respect your way of doing things don't they? Those of you who think britain rules the world need to look at other places and learn from what you see.

No they certainly don’t respect your way of doing things. Do you really think you’d get away with the stuff a lot of people do in the UK if they were in some middle eastern country? As if.

I can't imagine why @ednclouda would dig up this zombie thread.

garlictwist · 06/10/2020 10:47

I wouldn't mind in the day but not at night. But then I feel that way about church bells too. I actually moved house once because I couldn't handle the fucking ringing.
