rofl @ this thread, i was ina really bad mood and about to kill dh but now i won't

ELF1981 · 23/01/2008 20:59

how have I not seen this before!

So the general jist is that OP & Others dont like to be told him to feel, yet everybody else is being told what they can do. Fair 'nuff.

FWIW, I was actually saddened by Heath Ledgers death. He was not much older than me, and when I heard the news I did feel shocked and sad. Does that make me a saddo??

GColdtimer · 24/01/2008 11:23

"thinking of you darlign angel taken away too soon xxxxx hugs i am praying for you(wtf?) " love cuddlemom"

Bejaysus, nothing much on MN makes me genuinely angrly, but that comment did.

If public displays of sympathy for those that have lost someone, especially a child, are not your thing, then fine. No need to post. But how dare you mock those that do.

Threadie · 24/01/2008 11:39

There was something in the news today that made me *sad happy angry

I felt *so sorry for so furious with the person responsible

I think they should *be lynched have counselling be elected to parliament join the Big Brother house.

I don;t think anyone is getting at people who post on the Bereavement threads (either asking for support or offering it). But there is something creepy and distasteful about some of the mawkish bullshit that pops up on In The News: someone starts a thread called something like Oh, The Horror! and posts nothing but a link to a farking tabloid story about the rottweiler ripped to bits by vampire chav babies, and then you get sixty posts of fuckwitted slobbering which is of no relevance to anyone but the slobberers.

SueBaroo · 24/01/2008 12:58

It does get a bit much sometimes, with 100+posts just of the blue sad smiley.

But I'm not really bothered by it, sometimes people feel the need to 'register' that they have noticed or care about a situation. It's not like they're camped outside the house of the person in the sad story with a candle vigil on the go.

CaptainCod · 24/01/2008 19:45

lol at " wiht a candle on the go"

tiredemma · 24/01/2008 19:49

I have consulted the oracle.

I agreed with your earlier comment by the way. And madamez's. Just thought the early post was a bit
