Discussing child and hospitals.

So far we've had someone say as children in schools have masks and SD they must remain open for their MH.

11 minutes in and already there's false facts 🤦‍♀️

At the press conference the other week he said “schools are safe it’s just the mixing that is a problem” that’s not word for word but I was shocked at his blunder. So basically the buildings are safe until you put children in them! Twat

nickyschof · 03/01/2021 09:52

Andrew Marr was vile to Jeremy Corbyn when he was Labour Leader, wouldn't let him speak. Johnson is getting away lightly in comparison. Probably because he's a Tory.

coconuttyhead · 03/01/2021 09:53

@KosmoKramer

Marr asked about GCSEs. Johnson didn't answer the question and Marr let him move on. Johnson then said he wanted to address GCSEs and just waffled about Spring. Why isn't Marr keeping focused?
Exactly what I thought - were was Marr’s usual assertiveness? Hmm
coconuttyhead · 03/01/2021 09:53

(where fgs)!

Theirongiantess · 03/01/2021 09:53

When are they going to cancel the exams?! Those poor kids in exam years have had f - all teaching both last academic year and this. So unfair! This government are buffoons!

AaronPurr · 03/01/2021 09:54

Marr is being far too passive and giving him an easy ride. Angry

itsgettingweird · 03/01/2021 09:54

He wanted to then discuss exams to avoid answering the next question he was asked.

I think Boris is just struggling with the size of the task. He was never up to it and it comes across very clearly now.

EnjoyingTheSilence · 03/01/2021 09:54

The rest of you do matter @Hmmph, lobby your MP’s to act in your interest. Don’t have a go at London because our MPs have done the right thing.

AM mentioned Brighton council closing school, Manchester too I think, stop blaming London and get angry at your own MPs and the government for not doing what they should be doing

My MP ignores the emails - well she ignores most emails!

We won't get support as our town MP is one of Boris' biggest puppets.

I had to walk away from the TV. Twat was getting away with it again. So angry right now

EnjoyingTheSilence · 03/01/2021 09:59

@itsgettingweird that’s disgraceful, are you in tier 4? What are your school saying about going in tomorrow?

All I can say is remember this at the next election (not saying you voted for your current MP) get involved in getting them out.

PamDenick · 03/01/2021 09:59

He said more than once "Schools are safe"…

Sorry! I didn’t mean it was London’s fault - they have done right! I meant that only London seems to matter to the PM. He seems to be focusing on how bad the cases are in London, never mentioning other places such as Essex where the virus is at its worst.
wowfudge · 03/01/2021 09:59

I don't think it's necessary to challenge Boris very much. Doesn't take any genius insight to know he talks bollocks most of the time. He's pathetic.

PamDenick · 03/01/2021 10:00

He also seemed to admit that the Brexit referendum wasn't a great idea.

PamDenick · 03/01/2021 10:01

Ask him about the £350m for the NHS????

Skipsurvey · 03/01/2021 10:01

BJ is just a figure head

EnjoyingTheSilence · 03/01/2021 10:03

Sorry @Hmmph I’m just so used to people blaming London I assumed 😳

I’m also incredibly angry at the lies and bullshit that are being peddled out. Not answering a straight question, not being clear in their messaging which leads to more people thinking it’s not real or serious.

This thread has been good for me to be able to vent!

Theirongiantess · 03/01/2021 10:04

F##* brexit! There are more important things going on. FFS! Why can we all see that schools are not safe? Or at least for the wider community. Why can we all see that exams need cancelling? This government think we are all idiots when actually it’s them that are the idiots! 😡🤬

LynetteScavo · 03/01/2021 10:05

Did anyone else think from the look on Boris' face when asked about GCSEs, he already knows the exams won't go ahead?

llovetheshippingforecast · 03/01/2021 10:05

Why are you all waiting for this clown to make a decision about your child's and your child's teachers health ?

Simply don't send them. Vote with your actions. The Educational Welfare Officer who posted on the other thread said that they are not pursuing fines if the child does not have a history of unauthorised absence prior to Covid.

You can also fight any fine yourself in court. Forcing the government to disclose the information they are relying on to keep schools open. (You can do this yourself - don't need lawyers , I would be if I still had school age children).
I can't see any magistrate saying you don't have good cause.

bartymao · 03/01/2021 10:07

@AaronPurr

Lie one - Schools are safe
He's saying they are safe for children. In other words he knows, and doesn't care, that they are unsafe for adults.
Theirongiantess · 03/01/2021 10:07

I hope this is true. But why not just say so? What is wrong with giving the schools and kids a bit of notice?! Is it because they think they will all take their foot off the pedal? If that’s so they should bring in some coursework now to make up for the non exams
Hmmph · 03/01/2021 10:07

YES! I heard him say that too.

That’s how he is excusing the lie to himself. When he says “schools are safe” he is internally saying “schools are safe without children in them”.
