Who watched the fantastic win by the England Rugby team last night.
Can't wait for next weekend. We're on our way on holiday and will be staying in Paris Saturday night so we're really looking forward to the party. DS1 (age5) is very excited because we have flags for the car!!
Anyone else got big plans for the final?

Ok, let's not argue about this - just accept the fact that S.A. are going to win the World Cup on Saturday and be done with it!

nimnom · 17/10/2007 16:47

We'll agree to disagree shall we mishymoo

i reckon sa will win
but i will still be cheering on england

after all, i know you would have been cheering on ireland (if they hadnt been so crap)

now wouldnt you

saltire · 17/10/2007 16:49

But I shouldn't have to mention it should I? It should be irrelevant why I support one team and not another, people shouldn't jump to conclusions.
Some people assumed I was being "narrow minded and can't let go of tthe past" or had the "we hate England attitude of Welsh irish and Scots fans".
Not once have I posted on here that I hate England

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 16:51

saltire, I would like to point out that you could have read my post in that way, but it certainly wasn't intended to be a Scots bashing England post

I have never seen you post anything anti-English on here.

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 16:52

(and if we were to be talking about football instead of rugby, I would like everyone to know that I would support anyone before I would support Man United. Call me narrow minded all you like, I don't care. I 'ate Man United. So there)

nimnom · 17/10/2007 16:52

saltire - don't take it so personally.
My FIL is Scottish and would rather stick needles in his eyes than support the English, despite having English Wife, sons, grandchildren and also he's lived here for years, i was just reacting because i have first-hand experience!

bossybritches - who'd have guessed that our chat would turn into such a fight!!

lol doctor squonlk

saltire I'm not going to enter into this. Mind games are beyond me at this time of day.
Good for you and whoever you support, it is entirely up to you, youre right. Enjoy the match on saturday

Eliza2 · 17/10/2007 18:34

My Scots husband supports England if Scotland aren't playing.

bossybritches · 17/10/2007 20:32

I know nimnom- sports,religion & politics -always good for a punch-up!!

Are you packed yet?

Pan · 17/10/2007 20:45

Squonk. You ARE narrow-minded, FWIW.

nimnom · 18/10/2007 08:14

bossybritches,
just starting to think about it.
ds2 only just starting to feel better this morning, so he's been a clingon all week - not good for holiday preparations!!

bossybritches · 18/10/2007 08:27

Oh dear no let's hope he perks up before you leave. Are the travel strikes going to affect you?

I'm sure the French boogers chose this w/e just to annoy the English AND le president at the same time in revenge for last week!

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 18/10/2007 08:43

nimmom - have a fab time Are you going today?

nimnom · 18/10/2007 09:16

nimnom · 18/10/2007 09:27

ok, hope you got that last post tiredness and too excited at thought sent typing fingers hay wire

UnquietDad · 18/10/2007 09:49

Not so much "come on England" as "piss on England".

Blimey. if that bunch of preening overpaid gits can't even beat Russia they really are in trouble. Let's all look to the other game - the one with the funny-shaped balls - for how real men play!

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 18/10/2007 10:40

UD - that's the one we're talking about

UnquietDad · 18/10/2007 12:04

I know (now)! Sorry.

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 18/10/2007 12:27

let's hope that the rugby boys can do better than the footy lads eh?

bossybritches · 18/10/2007 17:13

Can't do much worse can they Squonk!

Noooooooooooooo now there's tempting fate
