Who watched the fantastic win by the England Rugby team last night.
Can't wait for next weekend. We're on our way on holiday and will be staying in Paris Saturday night so we're really looking forward to the party. DS1 (age5) is very excited because we have flags for the car!!
Anyone else got big plans for the final?

If any of the other home nations are playing against anyone apart from England then I support them. Why do you all hate England so much?

SOUTH AFRICA for world cup final!

GO BOKKE!

saltire · 17/10/2007 16:31

Who says I hate the English

mosschops30 · 17/10/2007 16:31

dsont go there nimnom!! Its their narrow-minded cant let go of the past attitude, they'll never get over it, best leave well alone.
I'm english living in wales and have to put up with this crap all the time, drives me nuts!

mishymoo · 17/10/2007 16:31

I certainly don't hate England at all! I MUST support my home nation, after all we ARE the best team in the world, with the best defence!!!

nimnom · 17/10/2007 16:31

mishymoo - No problem. I have a good friend with dual nationality who also supports SA.
I just get really peed off with the we hate England attitude of Scotland, Wales, Ireland.

saltire · 17/10/2007 16:32

I'm not narrow minded and how dare you assume I am.

saltire - ok you may not hate the English, but let's put it this way - if any of the other home nations were playing SA on Saturday I would be supporting them. It wouldn't even enter my head to support SA.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the scottish... although sometimes your accents are hard to understand...............

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 16:37

ooh, it's kicking off on the rugby thread

saltire - you support whoever you damn well please medear (but know that if it were Scotland there instead of England on Saturday, we would ALL be right behind you in our house)

Back to ruggers - have bought dp and ds this years England shirt today. The only issue is that dp's old (2003) shirt has been spectacularly lucky in that every time he has worn it England won (he didn't wear it for the SA match at the beginning of the world cup ) so should he wear his old shirt or his new one?

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 16:38

and whatever you SA supporters tell me, know we'll do the opposite

mosschops30 · 17/10/2007 16:38

I'm only referring to the home nations yes, sorry didnt come across like that did it . I dont care what anyone supports anywhere in the world, but as some have said if it was wales/ireland/scottish oin the final I would be supporting them. I think its a shame this favour is never returned

nimnom · 17/10/2007 16:38

He should definitely wear his lucky old shirt.
Didn't realise I'd open up such a can of worms!!!

OP posts:
mishymoo · 17/10/2007 16:39

DoctorFS - give him his new shirt......

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 16:40
tasja · 17/10/2007 16:40

I'm a SA supporter, so if I tell you your husband must wear his old shirt, will he wear the new one?

mishymoo · 17/10/2007 16:40

You big Chicken...... (DFS that is!)

saltire · 17/10/2007 16:41

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUPPORT TTH COUNTRY WHERE MY GRANDFATHER WAS BORN, WHERE MY AUNTS AND UNCLES WERE BORN AND WHERE MY AUNT AND UNCLE STILL LIVE, AND WHERE MY GRANDFATHER IS BURIED

Yes I know I was shouting the fact that mnay English fans assumed (wrongly) that I was being anti-English says more about them than it does about me

mosschops30 · 17/10/2007 16:42

the fact that you didnt mention it shows a lot about you yes!!

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 17/10/2007 16:43

so, saltire.... not England then?
