I was watching the news last night re Kate McCanns requestioning by the Portuguese Police. I have updated on the events this morning and it appears she will be declared as a SUSPECT today. Im shocked about this, what do you all think? Surely she didnt have anything to do with it?

A body

NAB3 · 07/09/2007 21:25

Thought it must be, but wasn't sure as never heard the word before.

noddyholder · 07/09/2007 21:25

I really think they have more concrete evidence than they are letting on as it would be unbelievably cruel and unneccessary to question them at such length and make such allegations from thin air.Maybe they have had a confession from one of their friends or they may have evidence from phone calls made at the start

kentgirl73 · 07/09/2007 21:26

or maybe they have nothing else to go on...robert murat is still a suspect or arguido???

minorityrules · 07/09/2007 21:28

very patronising

I said so we musn't believe the media NOW but should have 3 months ago when things were reported different

We eaither believe what they say or we don't, not pick and choose which bits we believe day to day

Everyone is entitled to opinions and everyone has the right to discuss them

No need to get personal against posters just because they think differently to you

If you look around the net, this is one of the very few places that have been mostly sypathetic to the Mcganns. The media were too, but now that is turning (have you noticed they are rarely calling them Gerry and Kate now? It's Mr & Mrs Mcgann, they are warily withdrawing, it seems they are confused too)

A very unusual case, which will call for questioning

noddyholder · 07/09/2007 21:28

Judging by the latest bbc news coverage they may already hav the body?

squeakybrushes · 07/09/2007 21:29

i really doubt that noddy, i'm 99% sure it's a set up. the portugese police are under pressure to produce results. i think they've been clutching at straws all along and now they just want to wrap things up. lengthy investigations cost money.

DrNortherner · 07/09/2007 21:29

Well I've just watched the interview with Kates Dad on the Sky website and it is so sad. He looks ill with it all and is vehemently defending his daughter.

It's all so emotional and messy. I wonder if there will ever be an outcome to all of this.

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2007 21:30

Stop talking everyone! Squeaky is SURE that it is in fact, a set-up.

Phew. Glad that one's solved.

kentgirl73 · 07/09/2007 21:33

couldnt find the latest bbc new coverage about a body?

squeakybrushes · 07/09/2007 21:34

oh eff off lazy!

and can people stop banging on about them having 'possibly found a body' there's absolutely nothing in the bbc report that says that. pure out there speculation

Why have they settled on the mother as being ripe for a set up when these things are more usually a crime committed by a man?

kentgirl73 · 07/09/2007 21:38

so noddyholder where is the newsthread?

ScoobyDooooo · 07/09/2007 21:39

Probably because she is the weaker of the 2!

ScoobyDooooo · 07/09/2007 21:39

I think noody may be watching news 24?

squeakybrushes · 07/09/2007 21:39

i wondered that too soupdragon. is it more often the father? i assume so but don't know what the statistics are..

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2007 21:40

HAHA squeaky! Telling people to stop speculating. That's rich, coming from someone stating that the police in Portugal are colluding in a set up.

:P

SoupDragon · 07/09/2007 21:40

Weakness would make no difference in a "set up".

Nightynight · 07/09/2007 21:41

It occurred to me ages ago, as it must have to loads of other people, that if the children were left alone, they could have had an accident, and the parents may have covered it up to protect themselves. We dont know, so cant make judgements.
The whole thing is a dreadful situation, can only feel sorry for all concerned.

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2007 21:42

there is also nothing in the news report about a set-up

SoupDragon · 07/09/2007 21:42

I didn't mean just father, I meant it's generally a male involved in abduction/murder of children. Or so it seems from my vague memories, can't say I concentrate much. There always seems to be a male centrally involved.

kentgirl73 · 07/09/2007 21:43

still looking for body report - noddy seems to have gone...

SoupDragon · 07/09/2007 21:43

I think it would be frighteningly easy to kill a child in the circumstances described in this case. eg child messing about, parent roughly pushes them back to bed, knocks child's head, child apparently OK but dies in sleep.

oliveoil · 07/09/2007 21:44

personally I think that a alien swooped down, froze everyone with a magic pause button then BAZOOOM, the rest is history

it said so just now on nooneknowsfuckall.com
