I was watching the news last night re Kate McCanns requestioning by the Portuguese Police. I have updated on the events this morning and it appears she will be declared as a SUSPECT today. Im shocked about this, what do you all think? Surely she didnt have anything to do with it?

LittleBella - I didn't believe the Birmingham Six. Though let's not get started on that one.

ScoobyDooooo · 07/09/2007 21:45

LOL oliveoil that made me laugh.

madamez · 07/09/2007 21:45

Actually the REAL truth is, of course, that she was killed by Lord Lucan riding Shergar up a grassy knoll. Just like Princess Di(ed).

beansprout · 07/09/2007 21:46

Oh fab, Bobby still thinks the Birmingham 6 are guilty!!

wheresthehamster · 07/09/2007 21:47

You're right olive! And Kate saw it that's why she came running back saying "they've taken her" (allegedly)

squeakybrushes · 07/09/2007 21:47

lazy you are odd. how can you compare wondering about a huge organisation like the portuguese police and what they're loyalties/priorities are, and claiming that a mother killed her child without a shred of evidence to back up your statement?

oliveoil · 07/09/2007 21:47

my theory is a valid as any other (ie made up)

and on that note, I am off to empty the bin

toodle pip

bobbysmum07 · 07/09/2007 21:48

Let's just say I don't belive they were wholly innocent.

pooka · 07/09/2007 21:48

Boobysmum! Are you deliverately trying to be funny?
Of course we bow to your superior analysis of that miscarriage of justice. Did you feel it in your water?

wheresthehamster · 07/09/2007 21:50

deliberate typo there pooka?

bobbysmum07 · 07/09/2007 21:52

I'm just expressing my opinion, pooka, I'm not asking anyone to share it.

pooka · 07/09/2007 21:52

No - just cackhanded.

bobbysmum07 · 07/09/2007 21:55

As for "99% it's a police set up Squeakybrushes" ... give me a break.

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2007 21:55

Squeaky, because both are speculation. I don't really give a toss either way but it seems incredible that you would berate people on this thread for making apparently ridiculous claims about the guilt of the parents whilst yourself speculating about a bizarro cover-up.

If you can spout your theories, so can everyone else.

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2007 21:57

and don't tell me to eff off.

twunt

noddyholder · 07/09/2007 21:57

sorry bbc news 24 stating that she may have
died of a broken neck How could they know specifics?unless it is also complete rubbish

Desiderata · 07/09/2007 21:58

Well, with regard to the Birmingham Six, I've made a similar point before. Just because a miscarriage of justice has been unearthed, it does not automatically follow that the accused are innocent. It simply means that a miscarriage of justice occurred.

Two different things completely, in some cases.

bobbysmum07 · 07/09/2007 22:00

noddyholder - The police can know specifics in a number of ways. Without a body, the most likely scenerio is that someone has grassed them up. That is how is usually goes down.

squeakybrushes · 07/09/2007 22:00

eff off lazy.

ha!

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2007 22:04

*sigh

Don't worry squeaky, when it all comes out that the police have created an elaborate cover up (because of course, people go straight from suspect to prison) you will be hailed supreme!

You'll be laughing on the other side of your face when the aliens return her.

[snort]

squeakybrushes · 07/09/2007 22:04

sorry what's so bizarre about the concept of police cover ups? like it's never happened before.. you sweet innocent trusting darling... let's hope you're never falsly suspected of anything lazybeehatch

gemmiegoatlegs · 07/09/2007 22:04

dna evidence alone cannot be enough to convict. Although dna is unique to an individual, a full piece of dna has 3 billion base pairs. however, a tiny sample of blood is unlikely to show sufficient base pairings to be considered unique. The FSS can only say it is a likely match.

Other evidence must be presented before a person can be convicted.

Also regarding the blood in the car. A sample fluid is tested to confirm type eg. blood, semen
DNA tests can then be performed. The pattern of blood as well as colour appearance and protein denaturation will give an indication into how the blood got there and how long blood has been there.

I believe if the McCanns had no involvement they will not be convicted. this is the 21st century and the technological advances are so great that it is highly unlikely a person could be "framed".

I also believe that we should be allowed to discuss this. it is optional, tho. i don't like marmite therefore i don't eat it, IYSWIM

LazyLinePainterJane · 07/09/2007 22:07

Well one thing is for certain. I won't be in any way accused of wild speculation about ridiculous situations.

and a beehatch? is that where bees live?

i think you meant biyatch...

noddyholder · 07/09/2007 22:07

I think the intercepted phone calls at the beginning may have revealed something It is just a different way of operating over there which seems strange.I think someone may have spoken too
