it has been on the news that the actor Owen Wilson has apparantly tried to commit suicide.

I just don't like two things here: mockery regarding suicide/mental ill health and being pinpointed as argumentative. I have strong opinions on some quite specific subjects but I don't seek out fights or start them intentionally. Do you see me on all the SAHM/BF type threads?

I don't like having to sit here now wondering if I am seen as argumentative. I don't mind being controversial because I know one of my traits is that I see all angles on things quite easily and quite enjoy defending the pov of the weaker party sometimes. But, argumentative? I don't think that's all that fair.

And as for feigning innocence - no! That is just me being non-aggressive despite forthright and wishing to learn from debate rather than backing myself into a corner.

Oh, only just seen this, saw the news to say he was in hospital but at that point there was no info as to why.

Poor bloke.

I always remember a conversation with my Theatre Studies teacher where I was going through a low period and that everybody turned to me for a laugh but I was miserable, and he told me a story about a man who was feeling depressed and went to see the doctor, and the doctor advised him to go see this particular clown performance because the clown was so funny, and the man turned around and said that he WAS the clown. Cant remember the name of the clown though!

Goes to show that even those people considered to be the most upbeat, happy and positive can be suffering deeply.

I hope that Owen decides life is worth another chance.

I'm glad he was found. His family must really love him. It must be so hard to want to help your son, brother, etc. when they're so ill in such a way and just not be able to unless they want to help themselves.

It'd be nice if people here can realise that this chap is really ill and not make fun of him for that.
