it has been on the news that the actor Owen Wilson has apparantly tried to commit suicide.

i certainly wouldn't think that what you said was acceptable if you were MP, i would say the same as what i posted ..

Why do my narcissitic tendencies bother you so? They don't bother me all that much but then they wouldn't would they?

problem is, mocking someone who is suffering from a mental illness , goes to the core of someone who has suffered / is suffering or has supported someone suffering

so it is hard not to take it personally, or to be offended, when it is such a sensitive topic

you don;t have to have been affected by it , to be sensitive to it

some subjects, IMO, are not to be made light of

Finger I don't know who you are or if you're an Oldie, if you were you might remember the poor Mum who attempted suicide and was saved by MN? Why do you think poeple don't get help earlier for depressin- its becuase (in manycases) they are worried they'll be laughed at, or not taken seriously, or have a huge stigma attached to them. That is why, imo, its important to not laugh at depression- especially on MN, becuase you never know how desperate the lurker reading your post is.
