Mercy · 26/07/2007 19:01

Which website are you all getting this news from? (esp. Hunker's post)

Fireflyfairy2 · 26/07/2007 19:02

"That is the cycle though"

I beg to differ.

Didn't realise that was dealt with at Mags, thought it would be Crown.
DOes it go to Crown for sentence?

The advent of 'file sharing' programmes brings it's own risks, and defences, as well. If you use something like Kazaa to swop music, it is possible for other data to be trnasferred as well..sender unknown to you, that data not requested, but nontheless there it is on your pc. It would be a matter of evidence to determine intent and subsequent viewing, but it still presents itself as a poss. defence to having the stuff.

MillieMummy · 26/07/2007 19:20

iCod - you are a popbitch reader?

harpsichordcarrier · 26/07/2007 19:36

yes, there are reasons why the files might be in your pc without you downloading them. the police evidence is often pretty fuzzy from what I have read.
paying to download though

re Pete Townshend (mentioned earlier) - DH went to see an amateur production of Tommy a few months ago (written by P Townshend). Loads of creepy stuff in that about kiddy fiddlers etc.

Makes you wonder...

Bubble99 · 26/07/2007 22:22

Would it be automatic prison for the stuff on his computer, as he'd paid to download it?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 26/07/2007 22:27

Mercy, I was talking about the jurors watching the child pornography that had been found - I'd been a juror on a case with a bloody knife and CCTV of the victim in her final moments and that was pretty horrific, but child pornography would have rivalled that

I in no way meant to imply Chris Langham had also stabbed somebody.

I am just staggered by the arrogance of people who download child porn and think they will get away with it

such massive egos

Pan · 26/07/2007 22:42

Bubble - I think it's the remaining assault charges he has more to worry about, I think.

Is it timely to remember we are on the www, and the poss. legal implications of 'loose' postings?? Or as the jury are sitting it doesn't matter so much? Just a thought.

Pan · 26/07/2007 22:43

oh hi MP!!

morningpaper · 26/07/2007 22:43

what could you mean
