K, flavoured vodkas are dead simple, folks, and they make good gifts.
The best bit is that you have to taste it before you give it away and consume all 'bad' batches yourself .
For that extra panache, and to appeal to the greener types, shop for glass decanter bottles in charity shops. I collect them throughout the year and tie them with a tartan ribbon for that extra naff factor that only a Yank can have.
If you're doing berry vodka, it's 3-4 cups of berries, washed, in a glass canister you can close well. I use a pasta jar. Pour 1.5-1.75ltr of vodka over the berries.
Sit the canister in a cool, dry place - an airing cupboard, for ex. and shake it up or stir it daily for 3-4 weeks. Taste, taste, taste!
Then strain the vodka into a decanter.
You can use the berries with ice cream to make a decadent dessert!
For lemon voddy, just peel an entire lemon - NO WHITE PITH! and pour the voddy over that.
Voila!
Xmas made easy (and drunk)!
