Just read this on MSN. Apparently he has 'no comeent'funny he had plenty to say before.

Speedy - are you talking about responsibilty for contraception, because quite frankly that horse has bolted.

No point in a man bleating about that once the baby is actually here. As I said before, if you have sex, a baby is always a potential outcome.

speedymama · 25/06/2007 16:26

Manflymachine, I took responsibility for contraception and I avoided intimacy when I was ovulating. I took no chances.

speedymama · 25/06/2007 16:27

I conceived when I was ready to conceive.

meandmyflyingmachine · 25/06/2007 16:28

Good for you.

I too have been very lucky. Difference is, I recognise that...

Aloha · 25/06/2007 16:28

Well, that's nice for you. So it would have been fine if your partner had then dumped you and gone on live television to tell the world that your baby 'could be anybody's'?

withoutdaddy · 25/06/2007 16:29

by the grace of god go us all...accidents happen thats a fact. perhaps more by luck than judgement for you speedy mumma.

nightowl · 25/06/2007 16:29

you avoided intimacy when you were ovulating and used contraception speedymama?

my hat's off to you. you're very organised.

withoutdaddy · 25/06/2007 16:30
Hmm
Aloha · 25/06/2007 16:30

The point is not that Liz and Mel got pregnant, but how their partners BEHAVED when they did. Which was appallingly.

expatinscotland · 25/06/2007 16:32

Well, I got pregnant by accident. And I wasn't an impressionable teenager, neither was my on-off ex, a trauma doctor. We were both in our 30s.

It happens.

In my case, I miscarried, but we were BOTH ready to deal with what happened in a way we agreed on - to raise a child together although we were no longer a couple.

Even then, it was a truly stressful time. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been had he gone and behaved the way Eddie Murphy did.

stepfordwife · 25/06/2007 16:32

good luck to her. why shouldn't she speak out and set the record straight? fast forward to when her - THEIR - daughter's old enough to find out he denied paternity and she'll be grateful her mother made a stand for her.

hopefully, though, they'll resolve things for their daughter's sake.

and what is it with the celeb-bashing? roll up, roll up, take a pot shot at someone you've never even met but feel entitled to slate.
kc is quite right - why don't celebs deserve sympathy the same as anyone else? they are, whisper it, humans, too.

anyhow, anyone fancy coming to the spice girls reunion gig with me?!

nightowl · 25/06/2007 16:33

my mum didn't consider when she might be ovulating when she got pg with me, she was using the coil and assumed it was ok. tis a miracle im here in fact, they only had sex once a month!

withoutdaddy · 25/06/2007 16:34

ill come with you stepford >>>

stepfordwife · 25/06/2007 16:37

you're on wd

speedymama · 25/06/2007 16:38

Look, I am a very organised person and I know that accidents happen and that's why I made sure it did not and still does not happen to me. Even my friends comment about the organised way I conduct my life.

I accept that I should not expect everyone to be like me and I recognise that flaw. When it comes to slebs though, I just find it difficult to muster sympathy with either side because I think they deserve each other (don't like any of them). I reserve my sympathy for the poor off-spring.

nightowl · 25/06/2007 16:39

my ex did the same..denied he was daddy. so i gave him a choice. i told him we'd have a dna test through csa and if it was proved he was the father then he'd have to pay for it..or we'd do it privately and i'd pay for it.

he declined both options...funny that

stepfordwife · 25/06/2007 16:40

speedymama..have you met either of them, then?

nightowl · 25/06/2007 16:41

speedymama...celebs are still real people!

they are not immune to the situations the rest of us face!

just unlucky enough for it to be on the front of tomorrows litter tray liner.

meandmyflyingmachine · 25/06/2007 16:42

You don't like any 'celebrities'.

Based on...?

And I have to say that not having sex (or being 'intimate' if you prefer) when I'm ovulating would be a bit of a strain. It is my most receptive time. I don't want any more children - my hormones disagree...

fuzzywuzzy · 25/06/2007 16:44

I think your prolly the exception then Speedymama, almost all my friends have had carried away with the moment things...me too in fact.

The men in both MelB and Liz's case have been complete arses, most women don't realise the man they love are capable of being such spectacular twunts, until they reach that point.
I don't think many mners would have such unhappy relations with thier exes if they'd known quite how low some men were capable of sinking.

nightowl · 25/06/2007 16:44

got to say flying machine..that is my most..ahem...horny time.

when im on, forget it, the week before...i'd rather rip someones...

oh well, you know what i mean. hormones and all that!

speedymama · 25/06/2007 16:44

I don't like their public persona. I don't like her music and he has only made about 4 decent films. I'm no fan.

During an appearance last December on the Dutch talk show RTL Boulevard, Murphy, 46, was asked if he was happy with Mel ?since she?s pregnant with your child.?

?You?re being presumptuous because we?re not together anymore,? Murphy responded. ?And I don?t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn?t jump to conclusions, sir.?

its really not about who was at fault at conception is it? the comment he made above is what his poor dd is going to see. its him calling the baby 'it' that sickens me more. and it was he that made it public knowledge not mel b. he should be castrated.

nightowl · 25/06/2007 16:49

the fact that you dont like her music is no reason to slate her for being left on her own with a kid speedymama!
