At our school girls wear skirts so short you can see their knickers when they are sitting down, or walking upstairs infront of you.

Re ties on women, er, prostitutes wear them quite often when dressing up as schoolgirls, no? That's the only time women wear them in a professional context, unless they have some kind of wierd uniform, like they do on public transport, or the post office, or something like that.
