Missing midwife from Stoke, looks like police have cordoned off a piece of rural land. I have to say it doesn’t look good but how sad.

Thanks for clarification Ameri

I'd seen/read the 'widely expected' verbiage before all the info in my post from more than one major media source, and hadn't realised it referred to part (rather than all) that followed it.

Radley Flowers be kind to yourself. Your DH is a love for removing you from the situation. My friend saw a high profile hostage/arrest from her bedroom window and it affected her for a long time.

RIP Samantha Flowers

A few of days ago before these arrests and names being published in the paper some random idiot on twitter was naming the person who they were sure had done it. Rightly or wrongly, I took a screen shot and sent it to the police force dealing with it.
Was that the wrong thing to do?

PortiaCastis · 06/08/2018 09:10

Amazing how sometimes the press get away with sheer speculation but then they're vultures feeding off the poor woman's death, god only knows how her family feels

Truckingonandon · 06/08/2018 09:13

Simonbridges - agree entirely with your comment.

umizoomi · 06/08/2018 09:41

Yes sorry, I mean charged.

SimonBridges · 06/08/2018 10:05

Thank you, Trucking.
As Gemaine Greer said, ‘women have no idea how much men hate them’.

My heart breaks for her and her family.
My son was 27 when he died.
That awful experience of the police coming to the door is something that never leaves you.
So, so sad and shocking.
RIP Samantha.

endof I'm so sorry.

endofthelinefinally · 06/08/2018 11:52

Thank you AllRoads.
I don't mean to make this thread about me, it is just that it is so awful knowing the heartbreak that poor family is experiencing, even without the horror of knowing that she was murdered, possibly by someone close.
None of them will ever be the same again. So many lives utterly destroyed. Forever.
It must be so distressing for the women Samantha looked after. I remember the midwives who delivered my children, and my youngest is 20.

MissEliza · 06/08/2018 12:43

All murders are tragic but I feel extra sad as Samantha looked like such a sweet girl. What a waste of a life.
Interesting quote from Germaine Greer SimonBridges.

Hmm

I find it a bit weird TBH that you did that, especially as it was some random idiot like you said.
