Sorry- pressed "send" too soon. Someone upthread said a man was involved. Rumours have been going around (especially here) about who may be involved. Obviously we are not allowed to speculate, so I think a few of us are going by the local news (that three men have been arrested) and trying to be vague. Hope all that made sense.

This is such a tragedy. So many comments in the media about what an amazing midwife Samantha was. Such a loss.

Sorry. I had a run in with some men’s rights types on twitter about something else and I got wound up.

The person arrested is to appear in court this morning, and I think that's when he is formally named to the public.

But all the major news channels are running with 'widely believed to be Michael Stirling, the 32 yo BIL of her ex' so there's an authoritative early version circulating somehow. That it is 32 yo male was formally confirmed at time of arrest, just the name that has yet to be officially confirmed.

He has been formally named. What hasn't been officially confirmed is his relationship to Samantha.
