The old thread takes too long to load.

Lets hope this is the one that contains the good news that she has been found alive and well.

hadthebuildersin - FFS

I wondered how long it would be before someone said that

layman · 17/05/2007 09:47

I know, can't believe that. jeez

niceglasses · 17/05/2007 09:51

What is your point Buildersin? Before you get jumped on? Are you really saying you suspect the parents?

I think internet forums are by their nature negative, but thats way out there.......

WanderingWanderer · 17/05/2007 09:52

Deep breath everybody - no arguing remember

hadthebuildersin · 17/05/2007 09:52

I genuinely don't know - it may be she was seen playing only an hour beforehand, or it might be no-one had seen her for many hours beforehand. But I would say it is pertinent.

The fact remains that generally speaking, and of course there are many exceptions, child murder victims are killed by a parent, and an unrelated person is much less likely to be responsible.

mumof2monsters · 17/05/2007 09:52

hadthebuildersin
I do no think that your comments are worthy to be on this thread. It is a thread for positive things not the awful comments you have added. Yes you probably right in some ways but not a good idea to voice your opinion here.
What do you think those poor parents are going through? Do you have any idea?
Probably best you do not add comments like that on here they are not helpful

hadthebuildersin · 17/05/2007 09:55

I do think in this case it is unlikely to have been the parents, as the police have had a lot of time to pursue that line of enquiry and given no indication that there is any evidence in that direction.

However, in the absence of any evidence or anyone else being involved, all you have is statistical likelihoods.

My personal guess is that she wandered off, and fell down a drain or something. Again, the statistics suggest accidental death is far more likely than intentional death or kidnapping.

mumemma · 17/05/2007 09:56

hadthebuildersin - those are the statistics and no doubt the police did actually look at that possibility and presumably discounted it very quickly - there doesn't seem much point in bringing that up now.

layman · 17/05/2007 09:57

sorry ,in a warm country if she fell down a drain near...well use your imagination

mumof2monsters · 17/05/2007 09:59

Hey hadthebuildersin
Why do you have to be so negative and say such negative things. Do you really think that we should be discussing death etc on here.
I thought this was a positive thread for positive posts and you are clearly not displaying that.
Please can we stick to the facts we know instead of speculating and try and think positive things for the sake of the family and little madeleine

hadthebuildersin · 17/05/2007 10:01

Fair enough. I am really not trolling or trying to cause upset, but it seems strange to me it hasn't really been suggested - either on MN or indeed in the media in general. When the Joanne Lees/Peter Falconio death in the outback happened, people were pretty quick to point the finger at her.

Wolfgirl · 17/05/2007 10:01

I think that hadthebuildersin, was just giving a statistic, not accusing the parents. Heck, I hope not!

ConnieDescending · 17/05/2007 10:01

wow - we have a load of crackers and frosts in here.

Unbelievable....

WhoBuiltTheArkNoahNoah · 17/05/2007 10:04

go adn loomk now

mumof2monsters · 17/05/2007 10:05

That was a totally different case and you have to admit Joanne Lees did seem a little strange - no emotion etc but you only have to look at the parents of madeleine to see they are in bits. Also this has gone on for two whole weeks now and they are still there, still distraught and trying everything they can to stay positive because they want their little girl back.
I do not know what happened but I am sure that they are not involved but that is something the police have to find the answers to. I just wish they get some answers soon. It is so frustrating because we know they are following the murat lead with the russian guy but it is confusing how it would all fit together.
Sorry hadthebuildersin if it seemed I was getting at you but I think we would all agree that we do not want to think about anything bad that may have happened. We have to try and be positive

layman · 17/05/2007 10:05

julket bravo?

Flamesparrow · 17/05/2007 10:06

juliet bravo

mumof2monsters · 17/05/2007 10:07

Also for the previous sarcastic comments. People have been on these threads for the last week or so and find it good to just discuss what they think. We are not amateur detectives we are just posting our opinions. You can always go to a different thread!

I think it is normal to feel very sad about this case, to feel empathy with the parents, to worry about a missing child, but my god, I am finding this gruesome speculation and psychic nonsense extremely distasteful. This has now gone way past sympathy for some people (and is the opposite of sympathy in some cases
