I think it is wrong - but just wondered what other people think?? And if I am being too blinkered in my opinion.

All well and good to come back to a heros welcome and even get a medal but they don't deserve 100k for a story about a situation that they knew could occur when they took the job.

Why not? It's not as if they're being given taxpayers' money, is it? It's money from the Sun which can obviously afford it.

It is in all the papers today that Faye did a Trevor McDonald programme and that when the soldiers saw it, they thought it was awful.

Has it been aired yet, please. When ?

There is an interesting comment she made, that she "wants everyone to see her stroy from her side". Surely that could be done without the need for payment? She could have just attended the press conference with the others and put her side of the story forward then.

Nadine baggot made a good comment:

"Senior bods in the Navy were under tremendous media pressure that's why they allowed it. (So said Lord George Foulks former Minister of Defence)

If our military leaders fold under media pressure we might as well give up now."

I think it's a good point. So what if the military were under pressure from the media, The media were given a press conference, and that should have been enough. What next - soldiers and airmen giving guided tours of Basra military base, because the Sun wanted a look!

Money, money, money. = no credibility. surely she is not that naive, not to realise this.
