Reports that all royal staff have been called to an emergency meeting and an announcement expected at around 8am UK time.

Rumours that Prince Phillip may have passed away. I hope not Sad

NapQueen · 04/05/2017 04:45
Sad
stolemyusername · 04/05/2017 04:47

I heard the same WellErr, I read that protocol stipulates that the BBC have to do any official announcement (but please don't quote me, I could be wrong), but the BBC news pages haven't posted anything about the meeting despite all of the other media outlets going crazy about it.

I hope its nothing serious.

I know a lot of people dont like the royal family but no one can say the Queen and Prince Phillip are work shy.

stolemyusername · 04/05/2017 05:21

Reboot I think that as I've gotten older (and maybe wiser), my opinion of the monarchy has changed and I do think that they bring a positive aspect to the UK

I hope it's another Royal baby. I would be sad if Prince Philip has died.

BeeThirtythree · 04/05/2017 05:32

I hope it's something happy, maybe Harry has eloped? Pippa Middleton having her evening do at the palace. I know it's inevitable the sad events will occur, but I hope all is well.

Foldedtshirt · 04/05/2017 05:34

Something's up- or randomly I woke up and was very nervous to hear classical music on radio 4 DAB. It's normal on FM though, News and no mention even of the meeting. We'll hear something at 8.

TheDowagerCuntess · 04/05/2017 05:37

On my FB it's saying that Buckingham Palace has told TVNZ news that the emergency meeting of the Queen's entire household is not to announce the death of either Her Majesty or her husband, Prince Philip.

But that doesn't necessarily mean it's true...

stolemyusername · 04/05/2017 05:39

Thedowagercuntess I know, the palace would obviously confirm rumours to a NZ paper first obviously right 😏

I've told my Royalist cousin to listen to news @ 8am.

BeeThirtythree · 04/05/2017 05:47

Latest from Buckingham Palace- Her Majesty and Prince Philip are alive and well.

Is it a safety/training/in case of attack type drill?

TheDowagerCuntess · 04/05/2017 05:47

All our news sources are calling up for a nosy, but BBC gets the gig, right?

BeeThirtythree · 04/05/2017 05:52

Yeah, officially it's the Beeb.

Mystery figure on palace roof?

RachelRagged · 04/05/2017 06:08

Another baby ? Yea for the tax payers to pay for but none of you see that do you ?

Funny that, you seem to smell out "scroungers" everywhere else !!

RachelRagged · 04/05/2017 06:09

And don't bother with they bring in tourism LOTS bring in the tourists not just them .

TheDowagerCuntess · 04/05/2017 06:09

I do think QEII is a force for stability in these unprecedented times...

honeysucklejasmine · 04/05/2017 06:10

Why would they call people in in the middle of the night to tell them someone's pregnant? That isn't urgent.

eviethehamster · 04/05/2017 06:15

I bet someone has had a stroke or heart attack. Something health related and serious. Can they get away with sneaking to the hospital in the middle of the night?

OhTheRoses · 04/05/2017 06:20

Perhaps it's Prince Charles. I think it will be a serious matter, possibly with constitutional implications if the meeting with TM lasted longer than expected yesterday.

glenthebattleostrich · 04/05/2017 06:22

Actually Rachel I was going to point out that they could keep the money from the crown estates instead of giving it to the Exchequer and do away with the civil list. Hell I'm sure they'd happily pay tax on it too, they'd still be better off.

MissDallas · 04/05/2017 06:27

Harry proposed to Megan?
Queen abdicating?

Hope it's good news...

likeababyelephant · 04/05/2017 06:30

My heart stopped reading the posts about prince Phillip.

I thought I didn't care about the royal family. Glad he's ok.

TroysMammy · 04/05/2017 06:32

I reckon the Queen has signed up the royal residences with airb&b.
