... well according to The Sun
which I read daily (being in the North, thick, not in work and all that)

So a man promises as part of the contract which is marriage, that all his worldly goods on HMM he will bestow...and then there is an outcry when actually what he bestows is less than a quarter of his worldly goods.

And the woman has his child, and his worldly goods will continue to multiply every day beyond the divorce settlement?

yes, you might not like her, she may be a gold-digger, but if someone enters into a contract / promise, this is what happens, whatever her popularity stakes on the celebrity status-ometer.

LieselVentouse · 02/03/2007 12:53

why should she get her talentless grubby mitts on Sir Pauls hard earned cash. He has five children wouldnt it be best left to them.

frumpygrumpy · 02/03/2007 14:18

SHE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THE BEATLES

(1) does she know whether its Tuesday or June?

(2) not having ever head of the Beatles is a crime in itself, whether you like them or dislike them, they are part of the history of the world and she seems to know so much about everything else in the world, perhaps if she spoke to the seals she was lying around with they would have told her about the Beatles

(3) what has not having heard of the Beatles mean? She still was aware he was a rich man........

(4) he made most of that money through being a Beatle so, if she has never heard of the Beatles, and therefore that part of his life is a closed door to her, why does she think she has any right to any of that dosh?

(5) ever think she had a grand plan long, long, long ago?

(6) he will come out of this with his head high. she will come out of this as an angry person with a smile painted on.

Let's quote some Beatle's Lyrics:
"Don't take chances if your
Romance is so important to you
She'll never hurt me
She won't desert me....."

Anyone know the song? Cmon?

Blu · 02/03/2007 14:51

LV - but then why did he solemnly promise that he would consider all his worldly goods hers? That's what marriage is. Just envious to moan about what she's getting...and even if his remaining £800 million is divided 5 ways, it's still way way more than anyone could possibly need under any circumstances! More than £100 million per child! And he's still racking it up, with royalties etc - it will be up to £800 million and more again before he pops it! Bet his kids have already been given millions anyway.

Would anyone be moaning if she was someone more liked?

I don't give a toss about the whole thing...just can't see why marriage promises - a contract - is up for grabs when the woman happens to be disliked.

TheBlonde · 02/03/2007 14:51

He was clearly a fool but it's not like he's going to be poverty-stricken as a result

hellobello · 02/03/2007 16:04

How much are the lawyers getting? They must be rubbing their hands with glee

LieselVentouse · 02/03/2007 16:07

Blu I never said that in my vows so chances are he never said that either - I think thats a materialistic vow and I dont like it.

paulaplumpbottom · 03/03/2007 12:05

She should only be entitled to half of his earnings during the time of their marriage and thats it.

frumpygrumpy · 03/03/2007 12:21

Can't think Dr Daddy, put me out of my misery please........

VioletBaudelaire · 03/03/2007 12:24

It's just percentages though.
No-one would be scandalised if he only had 2 million and she got half of that, would they?

hellobello · 03/03/2007 14:22

I don't care about Paul 'n Heather! I want to know what the lawyers are getting!!

DrDaddy · 03/03/2007 21:01

Song is: "She has a Devil in her Heart"

sauce · 03/03/2007 21:10

So how much? Don't trust the Sun.

Judy1234 · 04/03/2007 18:06

I think the court hearing last week apparently went quite well in his favour in a number of areas. Anyway we'll see. Obviously because of my position I don't think higher earners should have to give to much to someone just because they happened to be married to them.
