well lj ithought you were feeling sorry in advance for the reception that jade gonna probably gets when she comes out of the house.thats why i said it

dotcotton · 18/01/2007 16:09

I am so cross with Channel 4 because i've been suckered right in now, if i don't vote for Shilpa now and Jade stays in, and it has become the litmus test for whether we are racist as a nation or not, it will be my fault.

I felt bad enough when i didnt vote for Brenda on the X factor last year and she was knocked out.

CoozerP · 18/01/2007 16:10

I know that some people will think what Jade has done is awful and then see her on the cover of heat (or whatever) and think "oh I wonder what she's got to say for herself" and buy the magazine, and so the whole system that made her famous to start with will carry on.

I personally vow not to buy anything that associates itself with her.

KezzaG · 18/01/2007 16:11

I remember there was a campaign to do the whole silent treatment thing for another person once, on normal BB. It didnt happen but I remember thinking then that would be such a good idea.

I agree that it is not right to moan about someones bullying behaviour and then do the exact same thing to them. I just wish they would get pulled out of the house, they dont deserve any grand exit, be it to boo's, cheers or silence.

Cashncarry · 18/01/2007 16:13

pmsl laughing at Dotcotton not voting for Brenda!

I don't think we should vote actually. Although it's being reported as an "international incident" I think anyone with a modicom of sense will know that the UK is full of mini-"Jades"!

On that note, did anyone notice that the Indian press is having a similar discussion as to whether or not it constitutes racism. Most of the UK reporting on India's reaction has focussed on the "effigy-burning". Good to know that their media hasn't taken to sensationalising the subject half as much as ours!

Cashncarry · 18/01/2007 16:14

the UK is not full of mini-Jades

freudian slip methinks

mummylin2495 · 18/01/2007 16:14

it wasnt actually the " lj you can be her friend" that was the point of view it was the fact that i said the public will show her how much she was now hated, and you said about bullying her wasnt right ,think the posts have become a bit mixed up along the line

UCM · 18/01/2007 16:16

My tenner is on Jade coming out and saying these words

'ow can I be rashall, me dad woz black innit'

anyone care to partake

LucyJones · 18/01/2007 16:17

think we're all going round in circles As long as she goes!!

mummylin2495 · 18/01/2007 16:17

i think kezzag hasd the right idea,as long as we get to see her dismay when she is told she is out will probably suffice ,then we can all have alttle chuckle and a glass of wine to celebrate

LucyJones · 18/01/2007 16:18

UCM - and Jo will say she was in S Club 7 so how can she be too etc etc

mummylin2495 · 18/01/2007 16:20

I too am now afraid lots of fellow ignorant lowlifes will vote for Jade, and so feel compelled to vote for Shilpa. And I haven't even been watching! (until last night)

I'm being manipulated but powerless to resist......

Transcript of Diary Room conversation between Shilpa Shetty and Big Brother (unedited version).

Earlier today, Shilpa talked to Big Brother in the Diary Room to ask how she was feeling in the Big Brother House.

Big Brother regularly talks to all Big Brother housemates about how they are finding life in the Big Brother house.

Big Brother: Are you feeling happy?
Shilpa: Yeah I'm OK, happiness is a state of mind, I mean it just depends on what you think makes you happy, I'm happy. I'm happy and I try to be happy in every given situation, I wasn't happy, mm, 2 days ago. Um, well the way I live, if something has saddened me I try, it takes me a day to understand, analyse, and then I just leave it right there and then I move on, that's the way I've always lived. Today I am in a calm frame of mind so I would just like to say that um, an apology is definitely in order, and if Jade apologises I, I will apologise back and um, and make up with her. But I know that is not going to come forth from Jade's side, um and she thinks what she did was right and that was the right way to behave so I'm cool with that so I'd rather just be away, and keep my respect so that's that - I don't have anything against Jade, I just, I just don't like the way she speaks that is my only complaint against Jade, I have nothing to say against her as a person, I think she has really worked hard to be where she is right now, um, and I respect people who have come up the hard way but er, oh she definitely needs to brush up on some manners and the way she speaks.

Big Brother: Shilpa, you mentioned you were not happy 2 days ago, BB noticed that you had a conversation with Cleo in the bedroom following an argument with Jade. You implied that you thought the differences between the two of you could be racially motivated?
Shilpa: No actually I take that back. I thought it was cos everybody was having an arguement with me and I take that back. I don't think that is true, you know people say things in a fit of anger and erm, I stand corrected so, I don't want people to think and feel that way and I continue to feel that way. So even if I said it I would like you to please clarify and put this as a statement from my side if you can. That I don't feel there was any racial discrimination happening from Jade's end. Erm, I don't think that is true. That's it. I think that there are a lot of insecurities from her end but it's definitely not racial. So yeah, that's the way I feel.

JoolsToo · 18/01/2007 16:27

Sensible people are loathe to further line the coffers of C4 by voting but if they don't Jade may escape eviction.

Jack Straw is calling for proceeds of voting to go to charity - seems like a wise move.

JoolsToo · 18/01/2007 16:28

I say again - Shilpa hasn't heard ALL the comments.

SmileysPeople · 18/01/2007 16:29

So what to do JoolsToo?? Vote or not to vote??

dotcotton · 18/01/2007 16:30

No but when Shilpa does hear the comments we can reassure that;

"F* off home" is a term frequently used sometimes as an insult and sometimes in a jovial fashion between young people today."

crumbs · 18/01/2007 16:31

feeling the same as Smiley

crumbs · 18/01/2007 16:33

I'm thinking, vote Jade out, then stop watching. And NEVER EVER buy a mag with Jade on the cover.

JoolsToo · 18/01/2007 16:33

I NEVER vote but am sorely tempted. I hope they make a statement about a donation to charity.

SmileysPeople · 18/01/2007 16:33

C4 spokes person stated that in their view it was not racially motivated, but a difference of cultures.

So wouldn't bullying due to cultural differneces be quite a good description of racism?
