It really is Mary.

You are right Maryz and I don't know what the answer is.

Perhaps if the recession recedes properly then this trend will too?

OP posts:
AntinousWild · 25/05/2014 22:40

Awful, depressing results.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/05/2014 22:42

A little unsure why UK are so slow to declare. Couldn't we have counted this am and just held onto the results?

Christ, and we thought UKIP was bad..............

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/05/2014 22:59

When are the next French national elections?

OP posts:
OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/05/2014 23:01

And of course the National Front will help normalise ukip.

OP posts:
TucsonGirl · 25/05/2014 23:04

Well maybe the mainstream parties need to wake up and realise how pissed off people are and make appropriate changes?

VivaLeBeaver · 25/05/2014 23:10

I'm a bit concerned that Europe is like it was in 1935.

Fr right parties getting into power, a country starting to land grab neighbouring land.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/05/2014 23:10

Hmm. Maybe the main stream parties ought to stick to their principles rather than going with the whim of the day. You can't just change your morals.

Viva. Absolutely.

Maybe not next year tiggy but if it remains so in France then it will have a trickle down effect.

OP posts:
TucsonGirl · 25/05/2014 23:16

The main parties have principles? What are they?

SueDNim · 25/05/2014 23:17

I'm pro Europe, but I think it is time to scrap the European Parliament. I think that whatever it does could be better done in another way as it is just full of people voted in as protests. It must be dysfunctional.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/05/2014 23:18

East Midlands. Ukip, con, lab, ukip, con,

OP posts:
AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/05/2014 23:19

I agree with Mary.

Thing is the UK have never taken the Euro elections seriously, which they should do.

A lot of people think we shouldn't be in Europe, though, and as long as the mainstream parties ignore this it is just feeding the racist parties.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 25/05/2014 23:20

Le Pen (and her dad) have always had quite a strong minority of support in France. Particularly in the south.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 25/05/2014 23:20

Tucson I'm not going to get drawn into a debate. I know from other threads your position is hard line and intractable.

OP posts:
trixymalixy · 25/05/2014 23:20

These results are making me feel really uneasy.
