The Kim and Kanye wedding monstrosity

Does anyone else find this whole wedding an obscene use of money, and who are they anyway? Or is it just me? What an ugly pair, and I don't mean looks.

Gawd, I love reading about it. I also love seeing Kim shoehorned into all these clothes designed for women with no curves at all. She must have industrial quantities of tape.

They seem awful and I would be very worried about marrying Kanye, he seems a bit controlling to say the least.

However, if people have £11m, besides charity, the best thing they can do is spend it. It doesn't disappear into a void you know, it pays the wages of thousands of workers and traders and contributes to various economies. Their wedding looks like a nightmare to me, but I would rather they had an extravagant wedding than stashed it all in tax havens and just made bankers rich.

I never understand why everyone clutches their pearls at rich people spending money. You need rich people to spend money.

Agree that it's them supplying what we expect - let's be honest, it would be disappointing if they'd gone for something terribly tasteful. At least it's their own money they're spending, and they're not city bankers getting rich from the financial troubles of others.

OMG mini, was thinking of starting thread AIBU to utterly despise bloody KK and KW and their assorted menagerie and the fact that it is becoming increasingly difficult to avoid hearing about their tedious lives. They aren't spending their own money o it though, or at least not much of it. E!, the channel that makes the Karcrashian prog, is paying for some, sponsors for some, etc. It's a commercial venture as well as a wedding.

It's not like it was a toss up between spending £11m on the wedding or building orphanages in Romania. And I doubt they've spent a fraction of that. They'll have got most of the stuff at a discount or for free.
