I saw today that possible excavations are to start in the resort where MM went missing.

Does anyone think the progress The Met have made is astonishing given the length of time that has elapsed? I can't help but wonder what progress could have been made if they had been involved at the start.

I really hope that somehow they can find out what happened and give her family some sort of closure. I know the ins and outs of what happened and her parents leaving her have been discussed at length on MN but from a crime point of view I would be very interested to see if the Portugese police had done enough or not.

I do find it puzzling that people are disposed to expecting elaborate solution involving paedophile rings rather than a simple accident. I have no agenda, but generally apply Ockhams Razor - the simple solution, requiring no intervention by outside agencies, is the place to start. if that is not proven, move outwards.

I can't really believe that the McCanns had anything to do with this, some of the theories are just insane and ridiculous, but what I would like to know is when the e fit was supresssed there was something about the report that went with it being "Highly critical" of the McCanns, why? What did it say?

TheLateMrs - I would prefer the theory that she just wandered off. It's all very well saying that she wouldn't have done. Unfortunately with a lot of small children you never know what they will get up to until they have gone and done it.

Wherever you're posting your thoughts, we feel that speculation about the involvement of devastated parents in their child's murder is just beyond the pale. LaVolcan very true. And when DS2 came home from a Shrek cinema party upset because of the advert shown re MM being 'stolen from her bed', we explained to him that she had probably wandered off, and that he was safe indoors with his mummy and daddy who would not go out and leave him alone. (Did at the time make us very angry at the pointless scaring of our innocent small children Angry)

i'm pretty sure no one has suggested that the McCanns murdered their child - it is certainly what i believe.

what i posted was an verbatim excerpt from Kate's published book about Pamela Fenn and compared with the verbatim statement given to the PJ by Pamela Fenn herself - this statement is a matter of public record.

It seems MHHQ didn't like it, which is their perogative. I won't post either of those things again.
