I'm glad he's been convicted, but why is there no criticism of the parents who allowed him to have access to their children?

I hope he gets a sentence that reflects the seriousness of his crimes, not some pathetic 12 month or even suspended sentence. The women he abused deserve justice.

Newsnight covered it last night - they showed this awful clip of him mugging around behind a Sky news reporter doing a piece to camera outside the court. Apparently being prosecuted for child abuse is the perfect excuse for high jinks .

It's a shame he will only receive the maximum term allowed when the assaults took place. Vile man.

Having an out of focus view of morality would seem to be a recurrent theme for some residents of Planet Sleb so I'm not entirely surprised he found a team to cheer him on.

Sadly his actual jail time is quite likely to be only half whatever term is handed down

IF his offence dates covers more than one Crim Justice Act then the sentencing could be quite complicated. Either way I'd hope the sentence is long enough for it to be 'parole-eligible', not an automatic half-in/half on licence arrangement. And expect an "ill health" plea to be made as well.

Anybody else feel very, very sorry for Clifford's daughter ? So much fucking hurt, and that man still can't hold himself back from smirking.

Yes, the Theroux programme was very revealing, it exposed his arrogance and slimyness. He's always made my flesh creep and he has practised a vile and degrading profession. Anyone who used his repulsive services and now gets exposed deserves it. No doubt there will be a self-serving book produced following his release.

Can't the judge sentence for the two years for each count to run consecutively rather than concurrently?

I do feel sorry for his daughter; dad a pervert & as a result, the firm that employed her closed down, house re-mortgaged five weeks before trial so unless money has been placed in trust for her, she is going to have a significant drop in her standard of living.

Judge has told Clifford he has shown no remorse at all.

Judge very clear that he believed Clifford had abused 12 year old in Spain but couldn't be charged because it happened abroad.

Judge will impose consecutive sentences - total of 8 years.

Yes, sentence now pronounced and it is 8 years (minimum to serve before being considered for parole, 4years).

I was expecting the usual watered down sentence - this is actually rather decent.

So was handsup, was expecting a sentence of months but glad its years.
