Unnamed sources said the airport runways programmed into Zaharie's simulator were Male International Airport in the Maldives, Diego Garcia and three runways in India and Sri Lanka. It still seems curious that Diego Garcia was among them - although not necessarily sinister, as he clearly was a dedicated flight geek & perfectionist. He could have just imagined a scenario where he had to request an emergency landing there, or even have been playing a virtual game with fellow pilots. Yesterday's Guardian says that deleted data is still being extracted and examined.

AngelaDaviesHair · 25/03/2014 14:29

I can see that he might programme in Diego Garcia precisely in order to have a go at doing a landing he'd never be able to do in real life.

Thanks for the feeling of deep dissatisfaction with my circumstances ... Grin

Have been following these threads since the beginning and am so grateful for the insightful posts made by many members.

My feelings are that I cannot understand how we can be told categorically there are no survivors, when there is no tangible evidence; no wreckage.

I also feel distinctly uncomfortable about the eye witness sightings of a low flying jumbo jet in the vicinity of the Maldives, being ignored.

Something doesn't feel right here. I feel so very much for the families of the passengers and crew, and hope one day the truth about what has happened to MH370 prevails.

Hissy · 25/03/2014 21:31

Kareninsgirl I think from apparent trajectory alone and sheer remoteness of the location, it appears that there'd be no chance of a successful landing at sea.

It will take long time for me to forget the pain and anguish of that Chinese mother on the news last night. My heart broke for her. I was in tears over her this morning too. :( my heart breaks for them all, but for a woman to lose her only son, and his family, her only gc. What will become of her? :(

The search has started again.

Burmahere · 25/03/2014 21:38

I'm trying not to appear curmudgeonly but I do think it is a bit distasteful to be linking to houses on a thread which is the 5th in a series of discussions about a pretty horrendous air disaster.

CharlieSierra · 25/03/2014 21:44

So do I, I've just reported the posts.

Jjuice · 25/03/2014 21:45

agree

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 25/03/2014 21:49
