Pans I can see what you mean. Have you tagged it?

BertieBotts · 24/03/2014 08:52

Yes you just need to tag it. Nothing else you can "do" with it - the experts will then take a look.

I can see three items in a triangle at the bottom left of this square, overlapping into the top right of the square below.

I've tagged them but it could just be a coincidence. I also saw something close by which looked solid and like it was reflecting sunlight, so some kind of metal, but again, it could be sea debris. Tagged that too.

PansBigChainring · 24/03/2014 08:57

yes I have tagged it now.
Weird isn't it? Examining the ocean surface from your lounge via an orbital satellite.

mileysorearse · 24/03/2014 09:24

Wouldn't it be weird if you have spotted the same thing that the French did?

mileysorearse · 24/03/2014 09:25

I think I may have spotted a couple of whales, one had a squiggly line behind it which I assumed was the way it came

BertieBotts · 24/03/2014 09:25

I want to see a whale! :)

mileysorearse · 24/03/2014 09:32

The only reason I think that is what they were is that I have seen more than one and they kind of leave a foam trail. They look a bit like sperm iyswim?

BertieBotts · 24/03/2014 09:36

Can you see what tile it was on? I'm interested now.

usuallyright · 24/03/2014 09:40

the photos of the two Iranians which have been tampered with: is it possible one of them had evidence of a shoe bomb and authorities don't want to release that information yet? Sorry if this has been discussed. I've been watching these threads closely but wasn't able to over the weekend.

TheEmpress · 24/03/2014 09:42

I half caught the news. They have found two objects in the search area. I think they are going t try to recover them

BoiledPiss · 24/03/2014 09:52

I really want to see a whale, they are fascinating! Also I cannot quite get my head around the sheer size of them! We watched a program which when they described the size, we worked out it was double the size of our house!! Shock (bungalow)

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 24/03/2014 09:57

Press conference with Malaysian transport minister now

Objects seen - visually seen - within search area.

'grey or green circular object' and an 'Orange rectangular object'

other 'suspicious white and square objects' also spotted by chinese search plane.

Australian ship on its way to recover the objects.

I feel so sorry for these guys, they're so out of their depth. This sort of piecemeal information, and uncertain details - I just don't think would be announced or discussed in the same way by a more experienced country.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 24/03/2014 10:08

Fingers crossed the items can be recovered before the weather worsens.

starsandunicorns · 24/03/2014 10:26

Agnu yes the bottom halves of the photos are the same photoshopped in they said "by mistake"

puffinnuffin · 24/03/2014 10:32

Is this the same images the Chinese originally reported at the beginning of the search, or was it in a different place?

I can't begin to imagine how awful this is for all involved.

BoiledPiss · 24/03/2014 10:35

Stars do you have a link for that?

Cretaceous · 24/03/2014 10:45

"the bottom halves of the photos are the same photoshopped in"
I think they are saying someone photocopied the two photos, and so one (smaller) photo has the bottom of the other photo on it, and no-one noticed before releasing the images. This seems perfectly likely to me, particularly if they were stapled together. If you wanted to photoshop it, you'd be able to do a better job than that.

Mimishimi · 24/03/2014 11:14

Sort of like one of the 7/7 bombers who had a railing that was supposed to be behind him clearly projecting into his head (so that it could be seen partially over his face)?

Orange objects--lifeboats/rafts? Do they have those stored on a 777?

SundaySimmons · 24/03/2014 12:03

Circular objects spotted and will be recovered within a couple of hours. Items on surface and below surface. Grey or green in colour.

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 24/03/2014 12:07

Report from Australia saying search planes on their way back home now, as it's night time. Will go out again tomorrow - I suspect, now that they know where these items are, they will recover them tomorrow.

This must be utterly excruciating for the families.

MichonnesSamuraiSword · 24/03/2014 12:08

Sorry x post with Sunday

I hope they can recover them today. The quicker the better for those poor relatives.

DoctorTwo · 24/03/2014 12:15

HMAS Success is a few hours away apparently. Let's hope they find something relevant. Sad

MerryMarigold · 24/03/2014 12:24

Let's hope the ship's name is a positive sign!
