TeamHank I agree with you up to a point but I find vote-chasing bad too. We do need some people in charge whose jobs aren't subject to the current whims of the electorate, but who can afford to take a longer view and make unpopular decisions.

They are in the fortunate position of being able to help. They did more than anyone else in a position of authority did. I hate it when people just look and nod. Ok they can return to their lovely life straight away but at least they did something practical for a while. Things like this do make me think of WW2 when The Palace was hit and it was inferred that now the royals were in the same boat as those whose little terrace with it's outside loo was a pile of bricks. But like I said at least they did something they didn't have to.
