This latest escapee is the fourth in just weeks. Two paedophiles escaped last week from this open prison. What the hell are paedos doing in an open prison???

Oh the answer is definitely to lock them up for life. Craig Sweeney- now are you aware that the palce he was housed was 20 minutes drive from the prison that is letting all the cons escape? Maybe I am way off the amrk but maybe an investigation into South Wales prison and probation servcies may be required here? Every day almost we drive past the place where he lived, the same black MPV is still there- goodness knows who lives there still. Not sure I want to contemplate it. It is very close to both a school and a nursery, as well. All the hiuses in the road seem to be up for sale, well it's a family street of three bedroomed houses- I'd go too, wouldn't you?

Those poor people haven't got a hope in hell of selling those houses. How awful no one knew it was a hostel for released sex offenders and to add insult to injury it was near a nursery and school.

They do seem to sell slowly, I would guess to people new to the area? If it were me I'd rent out as student accomodation as it is close by.

Dh is amazed trhe palce is still standing, it's also close to two coumncil estates.... where we come from, people convicted of paedophilia were advised to avoid the town for their own safety, and whena local man was outed, he had to leave rather sharpish....

I think paedophilia is a mixture of control/power and deviant sexual behaviour. I find it very hard to believe that that no-one has control over their sex drive (unless the person was seriously abused as a child). Otherwise you might as well say all men are potential rapists.

Paedophiles circulate within their own 'community', the majority know what they are doing is wrong otherwise it wouldn't be so clandestine. And sadly an awful lot of paedophiles carry out incest - it's not just abduction and grooming of children not know to them.

Many paedos are masters of manipulation and highly intelligent.

They need locked up w/no chance for parole. Ever.

Until perhaps one day a form of rehabilitation that is truly successful can be found and established.

So far, attempts at re-hab - long term - have had very, very little effect.

One of society's fundamental duties is to protect its most vulnerable.

We are FAILING in this if we do NOT make crimes against children punishable by life imprisonment - meaning life.
