I can't help but feel sorry for her but if I am honest, I also think "well you should have expected it". He has a talent for moving on to someone younger/richer etc....what a cad!

Thing is, Della and now Anthea both really loved him despite his failings - I pity any female he is involved with.

So much for her charidee work -read the last line Hmm

I hope she retires from TV gracefully. Another desperate stab at a reality show would be a step to far.

Bloody nora, I have made it to the DailyMail Grin

That was my quote they used.
MNHQ DO I GET A PRIZE?

So AT wants to meet with us who have commented to discuss the comments?
Anthea - What you needed to do was to say you have been a complete fool even getting involved with a married man in the first place. Tell people that you accept it was bang out of order to take another womans husband and the father away from 3 tiny children. Accept that karma has come back to bite you well and truly on the arse.
Then, you can build up a bit of respectabiulity, and get your life back on track. Leave him to get on with being the prat that he is, and be thankful that you are out of it.
I wish you well.

I'm torn on this.

On the one hand, if you acquire your husband as the result of an affair, it shouldn't come as a surprise if he then cheats on you with someone else.

Still, I think she has been given harsher treatment than others who have done the same thing. As far as Flakegate goes, she was one of the first to have a sponsored wedding and people thought it was tacky especially given that her meeting with Bovey wasn't exactly Romeo and Juliet. Nowadays though, loads of slebs have endorsed personal events.

Where would the Daily Mail be without Mumsnet, Twitter etc? They might actually have to do some real journalism.

That said would be quite happy to meet Anthea to see that t-shirt folding in the flesh! Grin

I've got as far as the first line of the DM article.

Tucked away in a dusty box in her attic...

Anthea really should sue for this sort of libel. I'm sure her attic would be nothing less than immaculate.

I think the snowflake photo just looked particularly tacky, probably because of the way Bovey is leering cheesily in the shot.

The thing is.

Yes affairs do happen
Yes people do leave their partners and marry the afairee (?? !!)

BUT

Where she made everything one hundred times worse was

Having a huge wedding
Selling the photos to a magazine
Writing a book in detail about the affair and the first time their lips touched bollox.

And generally rubbing Della and the childrens nose in it.

A quiet wedding with a couple of witnesses and slink out of the limelight to live happily (or not in this case) ever after.

She played it wrong. She stole another woman's husband, and expect the world to be nothing other than delighted with the fact. How stupid could she be. And he is an arseholio of course too.

And I agree whole heartedly about the dusty box in the attic. Maybe she can make a few bob suing the DM for starters. She must be 'Disgusted of Esher' or wherever she lives.
