god how hard can it be to have millions in the bank, be able to holiday whenever, wherever you want, pay for anything for your kids.

Hell choose not to work if you want to .... my what a dilemma!!!!

My heart bleeds for madonna and her hard life

beety · 12/05/2006 15:42

i believe there are many ways of mothering. Changing nappies maybe one of them. However, feeding your child, reading to it, cuddling it are just if not more valid

beety · 12/05/2006 15:43

You cannot buy happiness

cataloguequeen · 12/05/2006 15:44

Ok so Madonna is a working mother but by no means normal!!

All mothers have pangs of guilt for whatever reason but I would have respected what she had to say as a mother if she actually took time out to be one... like Uma Thurman for instance... she doesn't need the cash and some working mothers would give their right tit to have more time with their children

I agree you may go nuts being with at home but her work shedule(sp?) hasn't changed much has it? she pops em out and goes back work no probs

She wants to spend less time shakin her booty and more time shakin a rattle!!(too late for that now though)Sad

Btw I do like her musicGrin

gift · 12/05/2006 15:44

I am a lawyer.I need evidence to condemn her for not changing her kids nappies.....

Greensleeves · 12/05/2006 15:45

I don't dispute that beety. But nonetheless a mother who has NEVER had to - or chosen to - do the less rewarding and enjoyable aspects of mothering - the actual "caring" bit - isn't fully mothering her child. It may not be a popular view here but it is mine.:)

Greensleeves · 12/05/2006 15:46

You're a lawyer gift?

gift · 12/05/2006 15:46

I bought a square cut diamond ring last week that made me really happy!

gift · 12/05/2006 15:48

My son also stopped wearing diapers recently. That made me really happy.

Smile
beety · 12/05/2006 15:48

CQ. How do you know how much time she has taken off work?

Greensleeves · 12/05/2006 15:50

If she had spent any significant time in sole charge of her children when they were little, she would have found it quite difficult to avoid ever changing a nappy.Grin

beety · 12/05/2006 15:51

Did she ever say she has not changed a nappy?

gift · 12/05/2006 15:51

Who is Madonna anyway ?

cataloguequeen · 12/05/2006 15:51

I don't, but I didn't see her disappear while she took care of them did you?

Greensleeves · 12/05/2006 15:52

bosscat quoted an article in which Madonna said she had never changed a nappy. I assumed bosscat wasn't lying about having read the article.

beety · 12/05/2006 15:52

well i dont know, acrtually. I don't remember when they were born adn if she was not around for a few months or not.

I doknow that she loves her kids and is a gret mum. They also love her and that is very evident

beety · 12/05/2006 15:53

and that is all I am going to say on the subject becasue i get pissed of when peopel jsut assume things about osmeone they have never met

Greensleeves · 12/05/2006 15:54

Whether or not they love her isn't indicative of anything either way. Children tend to love parents irrespective of whether they are wonderful and loving or neglectful and abusive. It tells us nothing about what kind of parent she is.

apronstrings · 12/05/2006 15:55

I dislike her saying I'm a crap mother - can't help feeling its a plea for us all to say oh no, you do a great job. This doesn't really fit with the image of the strong independent woman bit.

BTW the 'british' accent really gets on my nerves!

Greensleeves · 12/05/2006 15:55

Well, I'm sorry we have fallen out over this one beety. Can't agree on everything I suppose.

apronstrings · 12/05/2006 15:56

but i do like her music

beety · 12/05/2006 15:56

not fallen out greeny..just one of my pet hates especially about her.

Greensleeves · 12/05/2006 15:57

Fair enough Grin

beety · 12/05/2006 15:57

arrrrrghhhhh

ffs, if you live in a different country youpick up the accent..jesus!~

My kids have had london accents, somerset accents andnow pretty standard ones..

especially if you are musical
