The Profumo affair (though of course I'm far too young to remember it ) at least had an air of glamour and mystery about it - and people were actually shocked by that. This is just cheap and sordid.

And I have to disagree with Twinkie - can't see why this is any worse than John Major sh@gging Edwina - that was truly barfworthy too and another case of a married man whom I'm sure wouldn't get a second glance were it not for the trappings of political power...
