Gosh what a horrible thread. So many people making up stories about why they might have done it, as if it's entertainment. They haven't been proven guilty yet.

And why the caps in the thread title? You sound almost excited that the parents have been charged.

COCKadoodledooo · 30/05/2012 23:01

Well said muminthecity. First thread on Mumsnet I've felt moved to hide.

YardBroom · 30/05/2012 23:02

mumin there has been alot of discussion about this case since the arrest. Hence the caps.

why is it horrible to discuss something in the news which the whole country has been shocked and saddened at the loss of those young lives. It is in th news, in the papers, on the internet, but not to be discussed here?

You are a bit odd

makes me laugh the threats to hide a thread Grin

After reading the thread title, what exactly did you expect to find when you clicked on it?

Don't encourage a thread by posting on it if you don't like it!

perhaps they didnt even mean to start the fire.
perhaps they are charged because a fire was started in error. it can happen. i dunno know. will keep try to keep further speculation under wraps

that;s why i think it was One of them.
was an unusual family set up

ChaosTrulyReigns · 30/05/2012 23:26

The capitals in your title sit very uneasily with me.

And I opened the thread in the hope that there were some vioces of sanity on here.

Thank fuck there are.

WetTheMogwai · 30/05/2012 23:27

I'm in no way defending them but I just think that for the children's sake they should've been put in a slightly bigger house. I don't mean a mansion so they can have a bedroom each just maybe an extra room so they're not packed in as much.

DH watched that press conference, looked at the way the senior policeman was watching them and said "The Police think they did it!"

As for the charge, at this stage it has to be murder; as for the trial, assuming the evidence stacks up, my bet is they will either plead guilty to manslaughter or be found guilty of it (obviously with a difference in sentence). Hard to see murder sticking, but an interesting case.

Terrible terrible circumstances.

I think we all need to remember that regardless of if these parents did this be it by accident or on purpose that small children have died at the result of the evil or the stupidity of someone out there.

Their families are grieving for them and as mums ourselves we should all be taking it into consideration the hurt that words can cause.
