Me too. You always hope for the best in these situations, but there's seemingly usually nothing much they can do once the animal starts repeatedly beaching itself

bambi06 · 21/01/2006 19:18

my ds couldnt watch anymore and realy upset but was trying hard not to show it ..poor thing..but on bright side it showed compassion and he has asd!!! theres hope for us yet.. i had to go out of the room as i found it very upsetting to hear about tha twonderful creature . they got so far with it down the estuary but not quite far enough i only hope if felt peace towards the end and didnt get too distressed , i wonder if it knew people were trying to save him.. i hope so poor thing..

Yes, I hope he did have some idea that they were helping him.

Someone was saying earlier today that whales are quite intelligent so I keep trying to think of that and maybe on some level he was calm.

Oh that's so sad. Poor creature.

Mercy · 21/01/2006 19:22

Had to turn off the news as dd was watching and she's got a bit of a 'thing' re death atm. Poor whale, hope it knew people were trying to help.

Marina · 21/01/2006 19:23

Whales and dolphins are highly intelligent, sensitive creatures so I think that is very probable.
