picture on p.6
for her birthday, Tom takes her skating. Is this really recommended for pregnant women? Or is he so on his own planet that anything goes?

i wouldn't do it pregnant. no way. but then again maybe they just posed and didn't skate at all.

while we're on the subject of TomKat check out this

MAN ALIVE, HE'S NUTS!

KeepingMum · 21/12/2005 14:12

I don't see the problem, are we not supposed to walk down the street when pregnant in case we trip over, or drive a car in case we crash. Blimey ice-skating isn't exactly an extreme sport!

northerner · 21/12/2005 14:16

Can you inagine though, ice skating at 7 month pregnant, you have a bad fall, go to hospital for check and the midwife says what were you doing?

'Oh I was just ice skating'

I'd be mortified.

I was preg with ds throughout a bad winter and was petrified just walking on ice let alone bloomin skating on it. But that's just me.

Enideepmidwinter · 21/12/2005 14:16

no not extreme

but er, quite slippery

ruty · 21/12/2005 14:17

you're far more likely to fall - and hard - on iceskates than feet on ground. And if someone else falls and pulls you over you also run the risk of sharp skates coming at you, but i guess if you can hire the rink for just you that isn't such a risk!

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 21/12/2005 14:18

suzy - that's sooo funny!

(seriously, it is - I sounded sarcastic there!)

Not reccommended

GingerBearingGifts · 21/12/2005 14:20

I slipped and fell on an icy pavement when I was 5 months PG. Had enormous padded arse though to break my fall.

KeepingMum · 21/12/2005 14:21

But Tom is practically holding on to her for dear life, actually he doesn't seem to ever have his hands off her, so I don't think she is in any danger of falling.
I'm not going to tell you what I was doing at the same stage as this!

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 21/12/2005 14:22

gb - at last I understand why I needed such a huge arse with each pregnancy!

OP posts:
northerner · 21/12/2005 14:22

But he could fall to and drag her down.

I'm intrigued now as to what you were doing

ruty · 21/12/2005 14:28

is it just me or is Tom seriously creepy. Yes, he never seems to take his hands off her. And all the clammy grappling in public he does to her - just seems a bit odd to me.

sevensuzyswongsaswimming · 21/12/2005 14:30

he is indeed very creepy

did you see the link I put up? If anyone, I mean anyone, touched you in that way and you weren't paying for it you'd punch their lights out wouldn't you?

followthestarlover · 21/12/2005 14:30

you know... falling over when pregnant isn't that bad! my mum fell over in the middle of the road when about 8 months pg with me, flat on her tummy... i was fine

babies are very well padded, and surrounded by water... you'd need a pretty major force to hurt it in there.

is it me, or is the world getting far too paranoid?

ruty · 21/12/2005 14:31

well i'm glad you're fine starlover but i wouldn't like to test your hypothesis personally!

KeepingMum · 21/12/2005 14:31

I doubt if it would be the first time that he has fallen on her and dragged her down - he is weird, I would be so suffocated by now the way he appears to act.
I can't possible say what I did, Katie has been lambasted for the most minor offence, you would have social services on to me!

followthestarlover · 21/12/2005 14:33

but it's just ice skating! and she didn't fall over! lol
i really don't see what the big deal is?

and even if she did fall over.. what do you think would happen to the baby?

ruty · 21/12/2005 14:33

but then i am paranoid

harpsiheraldangelssing · 21/12/2005 14:34

god I hate iceskating
it's just like falling over, but colder

myrrhthamoo · 21/12/2005 14:37

I fell on ice (walking to get the bus to work - not skating!) when I was 7 months pregnant with ds1. Luckily for me I landed on dh. Unluckily for dh I cracked one of his ribs. Perhaps that's what Katie was secretly hoping for...

followthestarlover · 21/12/2005 14:43

pmsl!

look the guy may appear weird... but that didn't stop nicole kidman liking him... or katie! i am sure there must be something lovely about him otherwise she wouldn't bother!

we only hear what the media want us to hear

sevensuzyswongsaswimming · 21/12/2005 14:44

snort MM

get on MSn will ya?

NewBethlehemGirlwithsparkles · 21/12/2005 14:56

I'll never forget that photo of Nicole Kidman. She was jumping up, punching the air and smiling. It was taken after she had walked out of her lawyers signing the divorce.

That spoke volumes to me.

The guys a loon.
