picture on p.6
for her birthday, Tom takes her skating. Is this really recommended for pregnant women? Or is he so on his own planet that anything goes?

I wouldn't do it! she's about the same as me, pg wise.

SackAche · 21/12/2005 13:34

I love ice-skating! If she can skate well then its really not much more dangerous than walking!

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 21/12/2005 13:35

Even if she is a really good skater surely her balance must be off because of her bump.
Madness.

LOL what are you lot like!! Calm down... she's not exactly attempting a triple axel!

Twiglett · 21/12/2005 13:36

maybe she really wanted to go?

SackAche · 21/12/2005 13:36

I would ice-skate pregnant.

northerner · 21/12/2005 13:37

I'd say it's a bit silly actually, just as horse riding/skiiing whilst preg. I wouldn't personally.

SackAche · 21/12/2005 13:37

....and obviously if balance was an issue, she would get off the ice!

FairyTaleinNewYork · 21/12/2005 13:37

pmsl

Enideepmidwinter · 21/12/2005 13:38

rofl

he looks like he is about to smash her face into the cake

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 21/12/2005 13:38

(looks like she's being sick, doesn't it?)

Think skiing and horseriding are a bit different! You don't usually ski at a walking pace whilst holding onto your partner!! And horse-riding... well you are at a height and the horse can throw you.

I find this concern rather funny!

NotHavingXmasInChicagomum · 21/12/2005 13:38

I know FTINY it looks like he's about to shove her face into the cake!

northerner · 21/12/2005 13:39

At first Im thinking why on earth is he grabbing her by her ponytail?

Then I realised he's holding her hair back so she doesn't go up in flames.

She looks young for 27 though.

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 21/12/2005 13:40

ok
I just thought it was odd seeing how gung-ho and protective he appears to be about the pregnancy.
And obviously I was wrong in thinking it was a no-no.
I stand corrected.

Mistletoo · 21/12/2005 13:43

is this 'news'?

overdrafttopayforchristmas · 21/12/2005 13:43

so what did you all get for your birthday then [ grin]

northerner · 21/12/2005 13:45

Seeing the picture, it doesn't look right to me. I'd be shocked if I saw a woman that heavily pregnant ice skating. Seems a very odd choice to me.

I'm shocked and I'm quite unshockable.

ice skating is contra-indicated in pregnancy

your balance is changing so must be hard to stay upright

munz · 21/12/2005 13:50

so when was she due again? is she 6 months or 7 now?

OnZephyrstDayofXmas · 21/12/2005 13:53

I think they look really happy together too

cupcakesbakingonanopenfire · 21/12/2005 13:54

I think they probably are happy too.
