I just followed clues on twitter and it led me to the linkage between and it's always been such a weird case. I don't want to repeat what is being hinted at on Twitter cos it's too horrible if not true. Apparently there is going to be something big on Newsnight..... though no, I have no idea what.

Pannus · 13/07/2011 22:06

plus sadly did not win the lottery - so re previous posts don't want to be sued (is that how you spell it) by Murdock (sp FT) clan....

LucaBrasi · 13/07/2011 22:15

Pannus
OK, I have not looked at your link mainly because Joana Morais is a well known McCann conspiracy , erm person... trying to think of a good word for her

And btw, beware of these sites as they have serious virus software on them. At the time of the McCann stuff, when I followed it, I had serious PC problems and also had some hangers on on my (admittedly properly unsecured) PC at the time. I was not alone. It's all a bit of a cult to hate the MCCanns with some of these ones.

teej · 13/07/2011 22:16

Twitter can be really destructive when it gets it wrong, though. if there is proof then that's one thing, but there was so much claim, counter claim and downright slander in that case...

teej · 13/07/2011 22:18

luca agreed.

Pannus · 13/07/2011 23:09

Sorry nowt on Newsnight - I resign. I am rubbish poster!
What is going on? - they stuffed the studio with nobodies - I think this is a fix.

Pannus · 13/07/2011 23:18

Anyway after my red herring - America is awake and really pissed off with Murdoch.. former Wall street Journal family owners saying "eeew we wouldn't have sold our lovely paper to him if we'd known about hacking" - not much due dilligence there then. You could have asked me and I'd have told you, Mr Christopher Bancroft and Ms Lisa Steele, not to sell to the dirty digger....

sherbetpips · 14/07/2011 12:19

I am liking the feeling all this is creating - the british people are peed off and we are doing something about it. I hope we dont let this momentum go....

Hevian · 14/07/2011 12:28

Sherbet - I hope that too, however we do as a nation appear to be very apathetic. I long for the day (and I thought it might be here by now) when we actually got SO angry about all the shit we are fed, and accept, that we might do something.

jenny60 · 14/07/2011 12:56

People have been doing something about this; advertisers would not have withdrawn without public pressure. That rarely happens so we should celebrate it when it does.

chipstick10 · 14/07/2011 14:07

I still think this may backfire. Mps taking the moral high ground, cant get my head round that. And hearing over and over and over again that this is the peoples will. Hmmm im not so sure. As far as hacked off is concerned then yes that is definately being lead by the public but the bskyb as far as im concerned is revenge for the most part by mps. and i still say the wider public wont care one way or tuther.

WhippedCream · 14/07/2011 14:18

the Murdochs seem reluctant to face their Mp select committee

Rebekah is up for it though, she's in on tuesday

Rebekah does have some balls.

Is there any proof that NI hacked into the phones of 9/11 victims? I have only seen speculation.

sayanything · 14/07/2011 14:28

Have the tricoteuses moved here then? I'm a bit lost without Threads I'm On.

Astonishingly arrogant of JM to plead a prior engagement when asked to appear before the Commons. But what did we expect.

WhippedCream · 14/07/2011 14:33

agree bloody murdochs think they rule the country. glad they got summoned officially.

OP posts:
WhippedCream · 14/07/2011 14:33

Thruaglassdarkly · 14/07/2011 14:40

Does anyone else think it was very odd that all this came out to bite him on the bum at this precise time, especially when it all happened ages ago??? I suspect he has a very shrewd enemy somewhere, who raked all this up now to screw up the bid for him. Not that I care, but it's worth considering as a possibility, doncha think?

fridascruffs · 14/07/2011 14:44

Thruaglass- I think the Guardian might have chosen their moment well? I don't suppose they've had the info that long though.

Terribletriplets · 14/07/2011 15:28

I think that it was when the story moved on from celebrities to completely innocent victims of fortune.

sayanything · 14/07/2011 16:05

I don't think so Thruaglassdarkly. The Guardian has been chipping away at this for ages, it's only when the Milly Dowler case came up, as Triplets said, that the whole thing exploded.

bkgirl · 14/07/2011 16:11

Thruaglass, it has been raked up for ages, I think Private Eye had a weekly piece on dirty digger. That said it was Hugh Grant that tipped it over the edge with his wire tap and the backing of the Spectator. the police simply could not conceal it anymore.
