What do you think of the pictures of David Cameron drinking Guinness at 3.30pm in the afternoon, with new baby daughter in the room?
Responsible parenting?

I like Sam's dress.
Agree with MaMoTTaT - looks like awful guiness. He's got that look on his face I get when someone gives me tea with sugar in and I try to pretend it's okay.

cornsilk · 09/10/2010 11:49

Oh no Hassled I'd rather guiness than lager at 3.30p.m.

bran · 09/10/2010 11:52

Well, if you really want my opinion, I think that you're a rather lazy journalist. There are so many crap political decisions that you could be critical about but that would require several things on your part, not least a bit of proper research and intelligence.

I couldn't care less about DC drinking a pint, baby or no baby. Hmm

jacster33 · 09/10/2010 12:00

On the Mail website a lot of people seem to be getting upset that the photos are staged and trying to give the impression he's one of us.

Really? Daily Mail readers getting upset about something? Well that changes everything. If those well known liberals have an issue with it there must be a problem Wink

RandomMusings · 09/10/2010 12:04

but this isn't the Mail, it's Mumsnet

[puzzled]

ARE you a journo? Trying to get an angle?

claig · 09/10/2010 12:06

I think jacster33 is one of us, winding us up, she's had a few glasses herself already

Morloth · 09/10/2010 12:14

Whereas here on Mumsnet we don't give a fuck...

booge · 09/10/2010 12:18

If I'd just given a speech to a party conference Id want more than a pint of Guinness.

Flighttattendant · 09/10/2010 12:37

Rubbish journalist with no concept of apostrophe use. Or forum fishing.

Disaster.

Take a break or Chat? What's the betting gals?

Flighttattendant · 09/10/2010 12:39

'On the Mail website a lot of people seem to be getting upset'

ROFL

Rosa · 09/10/2010 12:40

ARe we sure that the guiness was for him or was he actually giving it to the baby?

jacster33 · 09/10/2010 12:40

I agree that the Guinness needs to settle!

OP posts:
Flighttattendant · 09/10/2010 12:42

He;s clearly doing what the rest of us are doing...making the most of the child benefit before it goes up the swanee.

There's a difference between a typo and a grammatical error, Jacster. I'm proud of my typos. But I know where an apostrophe is not wanted.

And I'm not a journalist.

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 09/10/2010 12:49

It is strange though don't you think? I mean, I'd have put him down as a white wine man myself.. I just didn't see the Guiness coming at all.

jacster33 · 09/10/2010 13:05

Just googled DC and Guinness and it seems he's been a fan for a long while.
I guess it's all part of cultivating a certain image

OP posts:
MaMoTTaT · 09/10/2010 13:12

I'm still not convinced it's actually a Guiness unless it's

a) a really REALLY badly poured pint - in which case he's just found his first job cut he can make - the barman!

b) literally just been handed to him and is surging extremely slowly.

I'm more inclined to think it's something along the lines of what Posie has suggested further up.

MaMoTTaT · 09/10/2010 13:14

oh yes - I know he likes his Guinness - there's other pictures of him drinking Guiness that isn't brown.
I guess is could be Guinness red - but I'm not convinced

Morloth · 09/10/2010 13:16

Or maybe someone said, 'You want a beer?' and he said 'Yeah a guinness would be nice'

BarringtonWomble · 09/10/2010 13:17

Blimey in the same photo...he's knocking back the booze and she's wearing her multi million pound frockShock

Call the mumsnet police someone!HmmConfused

Fortheverylasttime · 09/10/2010 13:22

I think it is poured from a can.

MrsChemist · 09/10/2010 13:27

In my professional opinion, it's a badly poured pint of stout [barmaid emoticon]
As in, they just poured the whole thing in one go, without leaving it to settle at all.
You can see the tiny black line at the bottom where it is just beginning to settle.

MaMoTTaT · 09/10/2010 13:45

I reckon he must have poured it then - and the can is hiding behind him Grin
