What do you think of the pictures of David Cameron drinking Guinness at 3.30pm in the afternoon, with new baby daughter in the room?
Responsible parenting?

amidaiwish · 09/10/2010 10:17

i'd be more concerned that he has hired a "personal photographer"

Chil1234 · 09/10/2010 10:18

"What do you think?"

I think you're shit-stirring.... and you know it.

Elenio · 09/10/2010 10:20

'What do you think?'

that it is such a non issue that i do not have an answer.

FunkySkunk · 09/10/2010 10:21

"what do you think?"

Biscuit
claig · 09/10/2010 10:22

The only thing I can say to him is "cheers"

vbusymum1 · 09/10/2010 10:24

Surely the OP is just being a bit light hearted - why are all getting your knickers in a twist? Grin

RandomMusings · 09/10/2010 10:26

The PM is a role model, no? NOT PARTICULARLY
We have a problem with drinking and binge drinking in this country.TRUE, TRUE
Is having a pint in the afternoon of a working day sending out the right message? WHAT IS THE RIGHT MESSAGE - THAT ONE SHOULD WAIT TIL THE SUN IS OVER THE YARD ARM?
One often leads to two etc? DOES IT ? NOT IN MY EXPERIENCE
And will dad's think: "The PM does it, so it's ok for me"? I DON'T KNOW ANYONE WHO THINKS IN SUCH A SHEEPLIKE MANNER - PERHAPS YOU NEED TO CHANGE YOUR FRIENDS. BAAAAAAAAAA.
Does it impair his judgement with regards looking after his newborn? ONE PINT? NAH
What do you think? I THINK YOU ARE OVER THINKING THIS

claig · 09/10/2010 10:29

"One often leads to two etc? DOES IT ? NOT IN MY EXPERIENCE"

agree entirely, it often leads to a lot more than that in my experience too

I think the OP has read too many of the last government's "guidelines". Those days are over, let us rejoice with a glass or two

Morloth · 09/10/2010 10:30

Agree with grumpypants and Panzee, if that is a pint of guiness he either needs to have a serious chat to whoever pulled it or learn some patience.

I find it very offensive indeed.

gallicgirl · 09/10/2010 10:33

I think the OP works for the Daily Fail.

CornflowerB · 09/10/2010 10:34

To be honest now, he doesn't look like he's enjoying it that much. Probably missing the champers...

RandomMusings · 09/10/2010 10:35

hah ha claig Grin , in fact everyone

poor old OP

feel a bit sorry

HecateQueenOfWitches · 09/10/2010 10:38

An adult, having a pint, in the afternoon, with/after/just before his lunch.

meh

Now if he was getting plastered in the afternoon and was in sole charge of the baby and due to being drunk dropped the baby on the floor - that would be a "mumsnetters are outraged" story you could go back to your paper with...

jacster33 · 09/10/2010 10:41
Confused

Get. a. grip.

HecateQueenOfWitches · 09/10/2010 10:43

confused?

Grin

We are making jokes speculating that you are a journalist after a story.

Grin

MN gets a lot of that.

We are also saying that a pint in the afternoon is really no big deal and let's focus on things that really matter. Like where cuts should really happen, for example.

vesela · 09/10/2010 10:44

jacster33, Confused isn't much of an answer as to why you would register here specifically to post this. Please enlighten us.

weblette · 09/10/2010 10:45

OP have a Guinness flavoured Biscuit

PosieParker · 09/10/2010 10:45

No Dads that get pissed up in the afternoon do it on the basis of DC as a role model.

jacster33 · 09/10/2010 10:46

I'd like to know your opinions Shock

OP posts:
ilovemydogandMrObama · 09/10/2010 10:47

No comments about the contents of Florence Cameron's bottle Shock Wink

jacster33 · 09/10/2010 10:48

Formula you think?

OP posts:
HecateQueenOfWitches · 09/10/2010 10:48

Well, you've got 'em.

We don't care about an adult having a pint in the afternoon surrounded by other people also having the odd drink and in a safe place where no child is in any danger. We don't, judging by the responses on this thread, think that having a pint in the afternoon is telling people that it's ok to go spend all your money getting pissed up and go home, beat up your wife and kids and piss in the wardrobe.

RandomMusings · 09/10/2010 10:48

okay

our opinions are that it's no biggie and that there are other fish to fry

our knickers are really in a knot over other stuff

off you pop
