listened toan interesting programme about parents attitude to sons or daughters joining the army. Most seem to be joining because theycould not get a civilian job. How would you react if your child wanted to join thearmy as a last resort? I think I would cringe a little, but it would be theteenagers right to choose, I suppose

I would feel proud if my DS decided to join the armed forces, but I would be concerned if he only did it as a last resort. I would prefer him to join a trade, rather than a combat role, but in the end, it would be his decision.

I would be ashamed if my dd's joined. Killing people in foreign lands would not make me a proud parent!

And of course Curry, that's all the Armed Forces do isn't it?
