Morning all back in a mo with links etc

OP posts:
dylsmum1998 · 05/07/2010 09:20

ok it seems we are in the kitchen today mission

Swan my friend started as PND but as baby is now over a year and the still haven't got her 'sorted' they class it as a diff form of depression. Luckily she understands why she is in the hosp and agrees she needs to be there, but is struggling (understandably) with being seperated from her family.

done today;
contact school and tell them I won't be volunteering today after all
dc to school
ds lunch
breakfast

to do;
mission
wash up
tidy through
hoover
clean bathrooms
tidya bedrooms
ironing

this could be thrown out the window if I don't get it done before friends baby is dropped off. Friend is desperate to see hubby, she text me a while back to find out when he is dropping baby off to me so he can go up there. Bless her

anyway must crack on

afternoon all,

quiet today, hope all is well.

finished my list , friends baby will be here shortly so having a quick MN break

Jas · 05/07/2010 12:53

All alone on here this morning dyls?

I hope your friend is ok soon. I have worked on acute psych wards, and they can be very scary. I'm sure she won't be kept in any longer than absolutely necessary

Monday is my FLY day.
DSis in nursery all day, so I have done the shopping, and cleaned the kitchen, including todays mission.

I now have to do 15 mins in every other room in the house and get as much as I possibly can done. BBL....

dylsmum1998 · 05/07/2010 13:03

morning Jas, it seems that way lol

I do hope friend won't be in too much longer, her husband has just phoned me he is very upset as the doc has been to see her before he got there and told her she has to stay in longer, they will review on weds. They are concerned that she spends all day in bed, but from what she said last night she hides in her bed as she is scared of the other pateints.
Her husband is going to meet with the ward manager when he gets up there in a bit and hope that he can convince them to let her home as the hosp are menat to be monitoring her but they arent....

scattyspice · 05/07/2010 16:03

I hope they can work something out dyl.

1st day on new ward today, forgot my uniform so had to work in jeans and t shirt . It all seems very chaotic, but other staff are friendly . It was extra stressful due to heavy police presence/constant helicoptor cicling overhead as one of the still at large gunman's victims is on ITU at my hospital. Hope they catch him soon.

DC are busy making cards - dh birthday tomorrow.

To do:
wrap dh present
floors
recycling

swanriver · 05/07/2010 17:57

Well, helicopt etc a story to tell the grandchildren, but I am sure not very pleasant to be in the midst of Scatty. Hope you can restore order to the new ward, friendliness makes all the difference.

I have a streaming cold (did your dd give me this cold Scatty?, but the good news is that dh's blood marker test has come back nearly normal after very high abnormal result previously. He is so relieved - he was feeling so completely desperate about it - end of world scenarios already being contemplated. Anyway it may re-surface [the problem] but still for now all is fine
and we might actually get a summer holiday together.

grouchy I hope you are alright xx

dylsmum1998 · 05/07/2010 19:13

Swan that is fantastic news for you and dh!

MickyLee · 05/07/2010 19:36

Hi everyone.

Not posted for a while as seems no point with leg in plaster. Bless my mum running the house for me. I can't tell you how hard it is not being able to just do things and the way i do them. Just can't wait to get this thing off.
In the last 10 days i have been out the apartment once.. it is so hard because i live on the 3rd floor with no lift. Cabin Fever!!!

dyls i feel so sorry for your friend.. hope she gets better soon and can go home. My thoughts are with her

swan Great news for you and DH

wendyhappysmile · 05/07/2010 19:58

Swan great news for you and DH, brilliant
dyls for you and your friend and her family ... sounds a catch 22 situation re: the scary ward which is making her worse . You are a lovely friend to her, hope all improves a little soon. Keep posting news to us all!
Micky feel for you stuck in the flat - you must be absolutely past it! At least your mum is there ... but it must be terrible. Keep thanking your blessings I suppose you are just in plaster and it wasn't worse
scatty hope they find the gunman soon, very scary situation! Glad all well on new ward.
hello Jas!

Been on nursery trip to Scarborough today with DD - it was super and she so so enjoyed it. Lovely day.

Otherwise all is well and calm here. I am blessed.

OverflowingMum · 05/07/2010 20:23

swan yay, great news for Dh...big relief...

dyls sorry friend didnt get result she wanted from consultant. Hope shes soon well enough to come home

mickey poor you . Yay for wonderful mu, though...hang in there

scatty sounds a stressful day on new ward...hoping it gets less stressful.

jas hope you had a good FLYMonday

well, nice day here really. Not much FLYing but ticking along OK

DD3 assembly lovely. Was impressed she actually said her bit (said shedidnt want to do it thismorning!)

then nice dog walk with reluctant dd4LOL
followed by lots of playing with dd4 and ds2 with lots of giggles and minimal fighting!

DS2 has played endlessly with a little toy he got from summer fair for 20p LOL

Then shopping this afternoon while dd4 atnursery...DS2 actuallynot too bad (he hates shopping!)
Looking for bits for DH birthday on Fri...got one thing...still need more inspiration LOL (he is 40 LOL)

Pleasent evening....everyone in much better spirits and more co-operative following the indefinite TV and Nintendo DS ban imposed yesterday evening!

Must catch up with house tomorrow...hopefully in afternoon as have more shopping to do in morning....
BBtomorrow...

swanriver · 05/07/2010 23:13

Micky that's terrible, I know ds felt awful when he was trapped with his broken leg. Could you stay briefly with someone who lives nearer ground level or with lift and borrow a wheelchair? I know it made a big difference to him to get out and about. Maybe it is not possible with the little ones to consider.

OFM you are sounding well and happy. I remember ds1 once played all day with a little cow that came from a cracker. [Happy days gone by - think he would now be demanding a positronic cow at the very least]
and glad seaside was fun Wendy

sink shined,
floor washed
dw full
3rd load of washing hung out
supper cleared
cubs collected
Cahms (sp) form for ds2 fille din and put in envelope

it does seem to be have been an evening of non-stop toil children not going to bed for aaages

Glad dh is ok swan. Hope yours is too ruby.
micky hope you're not going too stir crazy!!

Busy day. Dh birthday , celebrated with a glass of wine with tea (might have another later ).

Done:
clean bathroom
dust fireplace
laundry

Tomorrow DD has to go to the growth clinic (to be stretched perhaps ).

swanriver · 06/07/2010 20:07

Scatty happy birthday dh, and here's to cheery men LOL "stretched". I am v.tall, so kindly aunts used to always tell me when I was 12 I needed a paving stone on my head to stop me growing any taller

Oh dear there are lots of recriminations about Holland going on..

Had a rather horrid afternoon at swimming pool, dcs being dreadful, despite my theories that they never fought in water. All in good form now. I did feel very discouraged earlier.
Dd is now making a poster for Brownies, and has filled in a nature diary with picture of green parakeets. She was being awful at 5.00 but seems to have recovered.

dylsmum1998 · 06/07/2010 20:19

LOL @ your daughter being stretched Scatty

Micky that you are stuck inside, not fun at all

Swan glad dd has recovered

dd had her first session in big school this morning. She didn't look too impressed at going, but a little persuasion from the children's centre lady and she went. Afterwards we went to get her feet measured and buy her bigger shoes. Picked up a pinafore and some polo shirts for her uniform. She loves it and wouldn't take it off after trying it on. Is most disappointed she needs to go to nursery tomorrow, she thought she was going to big school from now on

not a lot done housework wise, tidied up and watered plants is as far as I have got. Collected friends dd from school and her had her round for tea, children played lovely in the garden.

wendyhappysmile · 06/07/2010 22:22

night all
have been in a terrible mood today but a bit better now, nothing in particular. Hormones!
night

scattyspice · 07/07/2010 08:15

pesky hormones wendy .
Sounds like a good start dyl.
Your dd sounds very creative swan.

I wish my dd would just sleep!!(yawn).

Today:
ds to school
dd to growth clinic
dd to school
buy food
collect dc.
friend for tea
beavers/rainbows
collapse

and laundry

swanriver · 07/07/2010 09:20

No-one went to sleep here till 9.45
v. peaceful morning though everyone ambling around except dh who wsa in angry wasp mode - having insisted I go to bed at 10.00 then complains that I misled him over stock of ironed shirts

have cancelled piano lesson,
as still feel v.coldy

good luck with your busy day Scatty
wendy hormones LOL a friend did a pysch course and found that every human emotion is a result of one chemical surge or other

wendyhappysmile · 07/07/2010 10:27

hope you are feeling better, swan. Pregnancy hormones seem to just rage and rage!
Had a busy morning gardening and making my dad a birthday cake (trickier than usual, he is wheat intolerant)
Just having 5 mins with a cup of Yorkshire tea (was on offer very delicious!)
Summer Fayre today. Luckily Grandma, who is on hols has given DC £5 each in 50ps! Bless her. And my parents are coming too so it will be a bit cheaper. Already had to send in to school £1 for bouncy castle - they don't miss a trick!
Out tonight to Frankie and Benny's for Dad's birthday, he likes it there for some reason! After swimming lesson. Spent another half an hour on the phone sorting out incompetents at swimming lessons. Hopeless! Hoping DD is finally on the list now for her session

hope you all have good days

wendyhappysmile · 07/07/2010 10:58

Grouchy has posted on her Facebook that her Dad has passed away, thought we all would like to know.
We are all thinking of you Grouchy if you see this

dylsmum1998 · 07/07/2010 11:13

FOr grouchy, pass on that we are thinking of her please Wendy

Wendy enjoy the school fayre and your meal out tonight.

Swan hope you feel better soon

OP posts:
OverflowingMum · 07/07/2010 11:26

morning all

GO thinking of you and your family.

wendy hope hormones arebeing kind to you today.

swan we have had a lot of late nights for going sleep here recently...veryannoying. In fact set all DC to bed extra early last night due to very overtired dc.....glad morning was peaceful though...

scatty good luck at growht clinic, hope dd comes back suitably stretched. My dd1 is the opposite...VERY tall, impossible to buy uniform and decent clothes for...may have to try Swan's paving stone

dyls morning

well...had no internet yesterday...cue more infuriating phonecalls to useless incompetants in far off coutries who couldn't care less, at great expense ...grrr...
Problem now resolved hopefully....

done basics today...
nice long dog walk and trip to playground with dc

need to do lots but lacking in motivation...
on a positive note have been good sticking to my weight watchers plan...long may that last LOL

now need to go sort dd's lunchbox for nursery...BBL

swanriver · 07/07/2010 11:54

I've started packing for hols, and cannot think straight. Trying to get loads of books out of house to my parents' house where we can enjoy them at leisure, but keep getting sidetracked. And feel thoroughly bleugh too.
still, have a whole 3/4 day so no need for me to complain.

GO I've sent you a message.

OverflowingMum · 07/07/2010 14:35

swan souds stressful. When are youoff. We're off to Ireland at end of term...still not sure of exact date and for how long..all depends on starting date for my job, whichis still not confirmed...

OK, have had calm afternoon. Now just trying to prepare myself before the after school chaos descends.

Am having major trouble with DS1 atm too. He seems to thik that now that he travels to school by himself on a bus that means that none of the household rules apply to him
He's rude and grumpy and lazy and ...oh just a typical teenage boy I suppose.
HELP I dont think I can do teenagers, and he's only 12 and the first of 6 . I'll be a wreck by the end of them all.
Someone with older dc come and talk tome and tell me what to do....sigh...

Ok...off for deep breathing and will BBL
