RubyI don't have details either just Facebook. my email is wendylanguage dot tiscali dot co dot uk if you want me to email me Rubes and I will give you her rl name to look up on FB?
Think Wolf has her rl contact details.

Just been to Frankie and Benny's - don't know why he picked there as it's so mediocre - dad's steak was 2.5 times the price of me and DH's meals together! LOL. But it is bargain 3.95 for drinks, main and dessert for kids.

Kids will be tired tomorrow, and I am so shattered.

See you all tomorrow

dylsmum1998 · 07/07/2010 21:51

OFM no advice about your ds as mine isn't 12 til Oct, but he does have similar views at the mo. Feel free to pass on solutions when you discover them

Haven't done a huge amountn today

tidy
hoover
clean kitchen
made meals
wash up
load/unload washer
ironing
made dd a fleece jacket

Have been to see my friend. she is looking better and more with it than she was when I first went at the weekend. Hope she continues improving steadily as she is, then she'll be allowed home very soon. The hospital are allowing her to go out with other people as long as it is prearranged so thats a good sign.

off to iron ds's school trousers as he has his induction day at secondary school tomorrow. Then off to bed as I am very tired tonight

Morning all .

grouchy my thoughts are with you.
swan I have to face the packing soon too
OFM good luck with DS1

Yesterdays trip to the growth clinic was more involved than I'd expected (and left me with more concerns than I'd gone with). We had assumed that DD's shortness was related to my mum/sister but the pead said that as Dh and I are average height, she shouldn't be so small . They took blood and xrays to rule out all kinds of scary conditions (malabsorption/faulty chromosomes/insufficient growth hormone etc). Hopefully nothing comes up but they will continue to see her every 6mnths! DD was an absolute star!

Today
dd still under the weather so another poor night.
see whats what after school

wendyhappysmile · 08/07/2010 08:10

Glad to hear your friend is improving, dyls. Hope things keep on like this. You have really got the sewing bug!
scatty blimey the trip to the 'growth clinic' sounds a bit scary, they know how to worry you don't they! Hope you're feeling a bit better

grouchy thinking of you

Morning all
Just getting DC dressed, having two mins before the onslaught! working for only an hour today (an hour's drive round trip for an hour's lesson LOL). My time doing the one to one tuition is nearing an end, although there is a strong possibility it will continue in September, I really hope so.

BBL

dylsmum1998 · 08/07/2010 09:55

scatty, that sounds very worrying. I hope nothing scary comes up from the tests. how old is dd?

WEndy I have got the sewing bug at the moment, dd also loves that I make her clothes which is great. She has asked me to make another in a diff colour which I have just cut out, just needs sewing together.
I hope you have continued work in September.

I dropped ds off for his first day at secondary today. I was feeling really nervous for him as he is the only one from his juniors going to that school. He was getting nervous this morning too. When we got there we bumped into 2 mums and their children who we recognised from his infants. So not feeling so bad for him now. Although they may not end up in the same form groups at least its someone for him to talk to at lunch etc

done so far
tidy
hoover
breakfast
ds to school
dd bathed

to do
sew together dd's jacket
lunch
dinner
collect ds from school
go to meeting at ds new school
wash up
s&s bathroom
mission

Ruby - I have sent you a fb friend recommendation for GO. I did have rl details, but I think they got lost when my computer died.

swanriver · 08/07/2010 12:17

ditto what Wendy said about dd scatty

tiring morning practising driving with gears, moderately productive.

now I am going to go to Staples and buy a download/upload (who knows?)computer programme for Word prcessing - really lacking the most basic things for modern life here so that I can write a letter to Council.

Off to Eire next Sat 17th. for six weeks. Dad has taken some stuff in his car, but he had less space than I thought for my junk re-patriation scheme.

swanriver · 08/07/2010 12:20

Dysl I have sent lots of sewing mags to Eire in hope that I will have lots of time to sew!!! whilst watching children play happily with their cousins. Dcs do love seeing us do practical things don'tthey - I think it's so much easier to convey than more cerebral forms of "work"

swanriver · 08/07/2010 12:21

and hope ds is alright, I remember it was completely ALL CHANGE at secondary. I never was friends again with people from primary anyway, apart from a few ubiquitous cousins (couldn't escape the cousin factor!!!)

swanriver · 08/07/2010 12:38

Right, I have rung bank to establish money supply. A start.

now feeling overwhelmed by different housey/errandy problems to solve. but pressing on. Computer.

dylsmum1998 · 08/07/2010 14:26

OP posts:
swanriver · 08/07/2010 14:50

I hope you are going out to celebrate DYLS! wow!
I hope dcs realise how seriously clever you are now!

and I was slinking on to complain that I had installed my wordprocessor, and written letter to council about elderly neighbour but that my printer won't work now

THAT IS AMAZING you worked very hard though you shouldn't be surprised!

scattyspice · 08/07/2010 15:44

Fantastic Dyl Good for you!

DDs teacher has asked me not to bring her in tomorrow as she is clearly poorly! Trying to get hold of dh to see whether he can take time off as I feel work will loose patience with me soon!

Fantastic Dyl That is such amazing news! So proud of you!

dylsmum1998 · 08/07/2010 21:41

than you ladies I am delaying the celebrations until my friend gets out of hosp. then we can celebrate with her as she also got a first!

Swan hope you got the printer going, and find time to do some sewing in Eire. DD helped me to make her fleece jacket today, puching the pedal on the machine for me . Took her to buy some buttons for it and have ended up also buying some more material and trimmings to make her another dress

Scatty hope you got hold of dh to sort out childcare

OP posts:
Nuttybear · 08/07/2010 23:23

Anyway now that moaning minnie is out of the way I can resume

dcs to school in good health
took dts riding yest for their first lesson - soo sweet. Ds2 had a pony called "Cheeky" who he said was v.fidgety LOL. It takes one to know one!
dh has gone to Urology clinic in despair again - doesn't know what appt is for or whyhe's got it and dr won't enlighten. But he'sgone anyway. Hopehe returns less desperate.

also rang social services about elderly neighbour who I had to help into his v.unsuitable flat on Wed and glad to hear they are very much aware of problem, at least over weekend until this letter of mine arrives. He is apparently on list for sheltered housing, and social worker is goign to refer to gp. so feel less worried about that now.

Makingchanges · 09/07/2010 18:23

Evening all

I'm sooooooo glad to be back - been on my jollies for two weeks and when we came back had no internet so I have been offline for a 3 weeks now!! - Not sure why it is back today, it just seems to have started working again, it could go down again any minute.

Holiday was fantastic - 2 weeks in newquay in the gorgeous hot weather - managed 4 beach days and a could of days out at other activities - DD rode a pony (well 4 actually) but for the first time and held a guinea pig and fed sheep - usually she would run a mile.

I ran race for life and beat last years time but still having tummy problems that thought was stitch - been ill with it all hols but doc seems to think gastro bug - i think not since this is now 4/5th week of it - need to revisit docs I think.

Been for induction day at uni for my PGCE - really excited but nervous at amount of work and spent all this week at school placement - loved it, got loads of information written down but now absolutely exhausted. Still not unpacked even though been back a week as had too much to do - need to get everything sorted this week as a bomb site house is very stressful.

Not had time to catch up and can't catch up on 3 weeks may try to catch up on this weeks thread if internet stays up and I've got my notes typed up this evening

Hope everything is good and everyone well

scattyspice · 09/07/2010 19:13

Wow MC exciting times!

swan my dh is a regular at urology clinics, he had a urine infec/kidney infec a couple of yrs ago and keeps having to go to clinics for reviews (no further problems).

OFM/nutty busy bees as usual

Ended up staying off work with DD (collegue didn't seem to impressed when I called in!), she seems ok though, just tired (and grumpy).

However did get lots done:
de clutter Dc bedroom
wash a load of soft toys
heavy duty dusting Dcs room
Hopefully dd will be less wheezy tonight after all that!!.

Also school reports today. Am very relieved that Ds got through his sats ok with only 1 below average (reading) and average for everything else (much better than expected). His teacher wrote a lovely report on him, very encouraging . DD also achieving average scores (mostly). She scored above average for attitude (don't we know it). So we are very relieved all round.

Also ds has the hot young (male) teacher next yr .

OverflowingMum · 09/07/2010 19:43

evening all
DH has come home in a bad way. Has had tooth ache on and off all week. Finally went to dentist today...not good news! Looks like it will be root canal work...and he's on antibiotics so can't drink...bad news on your 40th!

mc glad you had nice holiday. race for life...wow, well done you! I've just signed up to ww on-line and started couch to 5K...my 10 minutes jog still kills me LOL,never mind, one step at a time!

scatty poor you and dd...hope she makes a good revcovery

swan any news from DH at clinic? Yes, we're staying with MIL....will be nice for her, just hoping certain older sisters aren't around too much...sigh...

right, off for glass of wine before jumping back on my weight watchers band wagon tomorrow LOL

BBtomorrow

Makingchanges · 09/07/2010 20:37

OFM I did WW online last year and lost nearly 2 stone - which is better than my going to class total of 9 lbs in over a year this time

I got to week 6 on couch to 5k before the race (which was good considering how much time i couldn't do anything due to injured knee) - I did however did most of training on treadmill and found running outside a whole new kettle of fish!! - I'm going to start it again but running outside on the lovely sheffield streets!! soon (just as soon as I've worked out why my tummy hurts all the time)

Right guys I have

  • typed up some notes
  • Done some research on what uni have told us to look at for september
  • ordered tesco shop to come tomorrow
  • two loads of washing
  • washed pots
  • fed me and dd

Since about 5pm so I'm going to reward myself with updating my new ipod (you may remember my old one was orange juiced by DD) I have to load my new one up from back up so whilst I have internet I'm going to do that and my treat myself to a glass of wine too

Fingers crossed I'll be back tomorrow
