This is a very sad posting but there may be some likeminded people to myself out there who this thread will appeal to

Which cleaning products have you found that make the whole horrible business a bit more fun?

I've recently discovered the following all of which smell lovely (not sure if they're actually that good cleaningwise!!)

  1. Bloo toilet cleaner - makes the whole house smell nice.
  2. Method 'touch wood' wood cleaner - smells just like you've been making marzipan.
  3. method ylang ylang daily shower spray - makes bathroom smell lovely for ages and really seems to keep the shower clean as a bonus!

I realise that I may get no responses to this other than something along the lines of 'saddo'... but just wanted to share

iclean spray (only found it in poundland so far) makes all your kitchen surfaces and stainless steel things supershiny.

Vileda E cloth - for the TV/PC, nothing else has worked as well.

Cheap babywipes - for cleaning anything and everything.

TheConstantIroner · 17/06/2010 11:19

LOL MuminScotland. Nice counting, too.

That method stuff sounds gorgeous. The smell of a product is what makes me buy it. Off to Google it as I've never heard of it.

FreddoBaggyMac · 17/06/2010 13:44

racingheart the method stuff is gorgeous! It's not the cheapest though, Waitrose sells it and tesco do a couple of things in the range - it's classed as an eco-cleaner if you're looking online.

  1. E-cloths
  2. Method tub and tile spray
  3. The man who comes to clean the oven for you

My personal favourite is number 3. Worth every shining penny.

schroeder · 18/06/2010 16:39

Harry Potter(all seven) on cd.
Well it works for me....

DilysPrice · 18/06/2010 17:23

Melvyn Bragg's In Our Time on R4. Telly in the kitchen and late night repeats of SATC on Fiver (I've seen most of them already so I can clean the kitchen and sing-a-long).

SparkyToo · 18/06/2010 22:38

An ostrich feather duster. Makes dusting feel like a completely different job!!

SixtyFootDoll · 18/06/2010 22:46

a house keeper

I wish

hobbgoblin · 18/06/2010 22:50

That white stuff that you wet in order to get marks off the walls and your trainers.

I LOVE going round the house looking for marks with that.

It's called something odd.

hobbgoblin · 18/06/2010 22:52

Oh and bleach because it makes all the toilet cleaning go away

And pan sourer sponges because they clean everything well

Alouiseg · 18/06/2010 22:52

Flash Cotton Fresh, smells gorgeous.

TheNextMrsDepp · 18/06/2010 22:54

I love Windowlene/glass cleaner - I clean virtually everything with it (tables, tiles, kitchen cupboards....). Remember that film "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" where the dad sprays Windex on everything - that's me.

I agree - Method granite spray smells gorj, but it's not actually that good (Windowlene is better.....)

hobbgoblin · 18/06/2010 22:54

cotton fresh is right up there next to marzipan on the desirable smells list...how did I not know this was available?

Which kind of flash is it, floor, surface...?

ruddynorah · 18/06/2010 22:54

e cloth for windows and stainless steel

lakeland microfibre mop

babywipes for leather sofa

bibbitybobbityhat · 18/06/2010 22:57
  1. Oven cleaning man (quite agree cakeywakey).
  1. Pledge fluffy dusters.
  1. Dettol direct floor cleaner.
