This is a very sad posting but there may be some likeminded people to myself out there who this thread will appeal to

Which cleaning products have you found that make the whole horrible business a bit more fun?

I've recently discovered the following all of which smell lovely (not sure if they're actually that good cleaningwise!!)

  1. Bloo toilet cleaner - makes the whole house smell nice.
  2. Method 'touch wood' wood cleaner - smells just like you've been making marzipan.
  3. method ylang ylang daily shower spray - makes bathroom smell lovely for ages and really seems to keep the shower clean as a bonus!

I realise that I may get no responses to this other than something along the lines of 'saddo'... but just wanted to share

I have lots of shortcuts that cheer me up, but the top 3 happy-making ones would be...

Almond oil fabric conditioner, smells lovely without that in-yer-face fake floral pong

Zoflora Hyacinth disinfectant, one drop in your mop bucket & lovely smells (don't overdo it though, verrry strong)

Eco wash balls. I still add a smidge of non-bio, but wash at 30 and the laundry gets a really good do.

Ugh! the smell of Zoflora makes me barf. One of the girls I was at boarding school with used to put a few drops in her BATHWATER.

Ingles2 - I'm interested in this "Oxyclean stain removing spray.. ds1 is a footballer, every day he has green knees, until oxyclean gets rid of it and it smells bloody gorgeous too". Does it really work on small boys knees?

Ingles2 · 21/06/2010 17:48

It's the best I've found orienteerer and I've tried quite a few.
I got the name wrong though...tsk... I stare at the bottle every other day as well!
It's, Oxi Ultra plus, fabric stain remover for clothes and upholstery by Wizz. I would have bought it in Tesco.

Ruddynorah!!!! Nooooo! Don't use baby wipes on your leather sofa!!! you will shorten its life MASSIVLEY! The alcohol in the wipes removes the oil from the leather it will start to crack. The best thing you can use is a rung out wet flannel, water is the best cleaner for leather, the oils in leather cleaners attract more dust and dirt so they aren't great either. They make it look great but it doesn't last long.
