morning all

dyls thanks for thread. Good luck with list

VVVV tired today as it was 11.30 when we got home last night
All DC extremely shattered! NOT good on a night before school really...but was unavoidable

Anyhoooo

have lots to do ...am trying to be more motivated this week
Very glad zone is thekitchen...really need to do some work on my kitchen! Will tackle the mission in a min I think

So far have done:
6 V tired dc up, breakfasted and dressed in record time !
Home
Ordered flea drops and worming tab from vets
Tidied girls room, sorted clothes covering their floor...again...sigh
Quick tidy littlies room, stripped their beds
Emptied wm and td
bedding in wash (after distracting distraught ds2 who saw me putting his beloved quilt in the wash LOL)
Wiped kitchen surfaces, tidied away numerous bits of rubbish
Cleaned upstairs bathroom
Now...coffee whilst DS2 and DD4
are lying snuggled in blankets on the sofa watching cbeebies

NEXT:
Look on line for new laundry baskets that will somehow magically solve my never ending washing crisis (there are clothes all over this house, yet the dc never seem to have anything to wear when we go out LOL!)
Consider on-line grocery shop???
Whats for dinner?????who knows....I see a fish finger night approaching!
Mission -a nd spot of zone cleaning
Lunch
DD to nursery
Home
DS2 nap
Me rest LOL
Check through bag for pressies for dd bday (cant remember what I have put away so far!)

Right, BBL

have also put up to spice racks in the kitchen and my utensil rack. Feeling very proud of myself I have never done anything involving drilling before!

OFM where did you go last night- and more importantly was it worth the late night

OP posts:
dylsmum1998 · 10/05/2010 11:41

dd has just awarded my a magical star sticking for hoovering up

OP posts:
swanriver · 10/05/2010 12:29

Sorry about boiler still Dylsmum at least it is warming up outside now
Drilling is rocket science to me! I think I once put up a trellis, but never a shelf

Done two hours in kitchen, feeling pretty well stumped by house again and general organising again I do feel I am never going to crack this running a household lark
now need to do my singing practice or waste the lesson, can't seem to breathe at all
OFM yet again I have taken decluttering too far and have no clothes at all to wear, reduced to taking a teeshirt out of cleaning basket where it was being turned into a duster Can't seem to fit shopping in somehow anywhere.

OverflowingMum · 10/05/2010 13:00

afternoon all
back from nursery drop off
quick cuppa time
DS2 napping,dog asleep,all is peaceful...bliss

dylsmum we went to see DH bother in a concert. Was good fun. Bit much for the littlies really, but we dont get to see him often, so always try and catch up with him when he is down this way.Too late for me too on a school night...I so cant cope if I'm not in bed by 10 LOL And to think I used tobe quite a party animal whenI wasa student! Would often stay up allnight partying, then go to lectures...how time change LOL LOL

swan Ikeep decluttering dd's wardrobe....still have clothes EVERYWHERE though, but now they also have nothing to wear think we all should move and live in nudist colony. My life would be SO much simpler LOL

anyway....update list time
Look on line for new laundry baskets that will somehow magically solve my never ending washing crisis (there are clothes all over this house, yet the dc never seem to have anything to wear when we go out LOL!)next

OFM I've worked out who your BIL is, although don't know that band very well. Sounds pretty cool though - worth a grumpy breakfast..

One of my (only a second) cousin's husbands has just been elected as an MP! Wonders will never cease, have just been talking to my sister who is obsessed by election (being unable to vote in Dublin) who has been telliing me loads of gossip. I feel distinctly in a backwater at the moment. Although dd's teacher's brother got a huge majority too!

swanriver · 10/05/2010 13:55

that's confusing, she only has one husband

OverflowingMum · 10/05/2010 14:13

swan and there was me thinking I was being discreet LOL
LOL Cousin's husbands...sounds exciting though!

TeaMonster · 10/05/2010 14:28

OFM I need some excitment in my life, please mail me and tell me who!!

Having a pants day, I hate mondays espeically when I have to spend the morning pampering to my bloody mother!

Less said the better

Makingchanges · 10/05/2010 16:02

Afternoon all

Had a fab day yesterday - spent the day in Bakewell - DD riding her bike around, the park, fish and chips, feeding the ducks and a little shopping fab - then the evening at the Westlife concert. Dragged DH along as I do every single year - I've only missed one concert when I had DD. (they are one of my biggest guilty pleasures) DH whinges but sings along - although it didn't help my throat. Funnily enough I got in just before you OFM

DD went to MIL who then took her to nursery this morning. I panicked that she would forget something as first time someone else has taken her when she is staying all day so I wrote a big long note including what had to be in her lunch box - down to the sandwich filling - I think I need to trust that others are capable of getting a 4 year old to nursery

Today I have been to gym, managed 10 minutes of running and my trainer wants to nominate me and DH as members of the month I have refused and told her to just nominate DH who has lost of 4.5 stone in about 8 months. Went straight from gym to my first session as reading volunteer which I loved even though it was disorganised and then shopping. I've just picked DD up and set foot in the house for the first time today - phew

To Do

  • Wash nursery uniform that has yoghurt all over it
  • cook tea - can't decide on toad in the hole, pots and broccoli or chilli
  • Wrap pressie for FIL's birthday tomorrow and take over tonight
  • Sign language notes
  • Write up notes to remind me about reading sessions had today
  • Tidy lounge - I can't get near the window for toys that DD emptied out of toy box
  • Menu plan for rest of week - I need to be more organised if I'm going to try and lose some weight

Hope everyone is having a good day - BBL

scattyspice · 10/05/2010 18:58

OFM's brother is in Westlife !

Everyone sounds very busy.

swan Go to H&M (my favoutite)/Next/somewhere and buy a load of white/grey t shirts, sweatshirts/hoodies/fleeces and some jeans and some converse trainers (then you can look like me LOL).

Done:
floors
laundry

swanriver · 10/05/2010 19:33

Well, I am wearing a hoody at the moment, over my Cacharel suit.
Need to go and pick up four Cubs now.

dylsmum1998 · 10/05/2010 20:23

finished todays list, well if i ignore the find new doc bit (well neighbour did tell me roughly where it is so i can find it another day) and dust.

Dd's new bed is built she loves it, her room looks much better now i have tidied it, have also moved some of the toy boxes she hasn't played with in years. She hasn't noticed yet, am going to go through thte rest of the toy boxes in the next few days, am preparing to do a boot fair on a weekend when dd is with her dad.

I have a fully working boiler now. Finally the plumber found the problem, typical as its not actually cold tonight

why is it i clean one room, go into the next clean in their and then discover the first room is a tip again? I have decided I don't like having a house. I have twice as much cleaning to do now

Wow at famous brothers/cousins/brother in laws

MC sounds like a lovely day yesterday

OP posts:
OverflowingMum · 10/05/2010 20:26

evening all

mc did you enjoy concert
and well done on the gym!

scatty floors and laundry seem to be permenantly on my to do list......and cant possibly comment....(BIL not brother though )

Have just totally flipped to find dd's clothes all over the floor again I've taken irrational radical steps and put ALL thier clothes into black bags, and am going to sort out tomorrow so they are left with 3 outfits each, uniform, pj's and underwear... maybe!

I can't believe how much stress clothes are causing me at the moment

other than that all is calm...
Ds2 and dd4 asleep, dd3 asleep, dd1 in bed sulking at removal of clothes
DS1 and DD2 at joint cubs/scouts meeting....

think I need a super early night LOL

BBtomorrow bright and early

Makingchanges · 10/05/2010 20:50

OFM loved the concert but I always do - it was Fab. DD is jealous as she loves them but she is only 4 so i'm not paying to take her for a few years yet.

Updated list before I fry my brain trying to follow flash forward

To Do

  • Wash nursery uniform that has yoghurt all over it Done
  • cook tea - can't decide on toad in the hole, pots and broccoli or chilli Done Toad in the hole - Yummy
  • Wrap pressie for FIL's birthday tomorrow and take over tonight - Done but he wasn't in and I didn't take my key so have to go back tomorrow - grrr
  • Sign language notes - Doing now
  • Write up notes to remind me about reading sessions had today - done
  • Tidy lounge - I can't get near the window for toys that DD emptied out of toy box - daren't DH says I should but them all in a bag and see if she notices. I've got to build up to it I think
  • Menu plan for rest of week - I need to be more organised if I'm going to try and lose some weight - Think i'm going to do tomorrow

Right going to finish my notes and then gonna relax for a little bit before bed

Night all - Back tomorrow

dylsmum1998 · 10/05/2010 21:00

MC just re-read your post and saw about your gym- fantastic!

anyone who wants to be nosey at my small shelves I put up in the kitchen have a peek at my blog. I felt the need to share with someone so they are being shown off on my blog!

OP posts:
Makingchanges · 10/05/2010 22:10

Hey Dyls they look great - I daren't go near a drill but Dh is rubbish at getting round to these jobs - when you've practised on your house you can come round to mine for a weekend, should be enough time to do all my odd jobs

Well Done

swanriver · 10/05/2010 22:29

Dylsmum, your blog is very inspiring. I love the way your dd is holding such a large glass of celebratory drink! I am so glad you got out of the flat that was getting you down, and well done on the marks for the dissertation
I'm glad to hear other people's children sometimes bicker before going on delightful outings

MC your husband must be very determined
OFM that sounds a superb [binliner]plan.
