Thats really kind of you to say so, but seriously, my house needs a serious declutter. Got toddler group this morning, but will try to pick stuff up as i go from each room.

Planning on getting this from Ikea for our dining room alcove as it will add a lot of extra storage and will have room on top for stuff too as we have very high ceilings.

Need to relax. DD2 (has underactive thyroid, on 125/100mg Eltroxin alternate days) is extra extra sensitive, takes nothing to send her into crying, storming upstairs mode. Seriously considering taking her to GP because I dont know how long more I can stand it. Other 2 are doing everything in their power to send her into these emotional rages! No list just want to cry (Got my period yesterday)

Alice that unit is really nice. We have got loads of Ikea Billy bookcases in our house and you can get height extensions for them so that you can fit more on top if you've got tall ceilings, they may do them for other ranges, I don't know.

Who was it that suggested a damp sock over your hand for cleaning venetian blinds? That was the most brilliant suggestion, it took me half the time it normally does to clean them and they've come up much better. Can't believe how much money I've wasted on gadgets to clean them

afternoon all, its been ages since I posted on here! Figured I was a hopeless case in my slatternly ways!
Speaking of the Ikea billy bookcases I have recently bought a whole wall of them! I even have space to actually buy more books. Its a shocker!

I havent the inclination to type a list today but I can tell you that I have got the kids dressed and fed today (for once) I did clean the kitchen but then me and DS made a pizza so it now looks like a flour factory.

Ive come to a bit of a traffic jam with the washing because I keep putting loads in and getting them dried but I cant be arsed to actually sort them out once clean and dry!

If I can get the living room looking reasonably tidy and start thinking about cooking dinner I can say ive had a pretty successful day.

Freak Im jealous of your good looking windowcleaner, I live in a flat and mine get cleaned with a huge telescopic brush the bloke doing it usually has his mouth hanging wide open in concentration! Most attractive!

Hello Ferret - I am PMSL at your description of your window cleaner because ours has a similar contraption and pulls the same face by the sounds of it!
I used to be like that with the washing. What has worked for me is not taking it upstairs unfolded, ever. Once I do that then the pile just grows and grows on the spare bed and can stay there for weeks. I leave it in the living room and then normally do some in the evenings once DS is in bed and then another basketful in the morning while DS is taking 10 hours to eat his breakfast. It has transformed my life because once it's all neat and folded then it only takes a minute to put it away.

Freak You will meet someone lovely when the time is right. I know that sounds horribly twee but I'm a big believer in fate.

Bloody typical. The smoke alarm upstairs has started beeping for some reason, probably steam from the bath, but I can't reach it! Have texted ILs.
